He used to analyse Derby performances on his twitter account when he was a student, once he gott into the industry he had to stop. His handle back then was something like 1win11points.

Think he might have tried to join here under the same username a while back, assumed it was a Forest troll and never approved it.

Ooops.

Have we never had an analyst here before? or at least recently. Seems odd if so.

I just assumed all clubs did this nowadays.

Other analyst's names of note;

Pete Shuttleworth, Rooney took him with him to D.C. United.

Ben Warner, Rosenior took him to Hull as a "coach analyst".

Joe Carnall, Rowett brought him from Birmingham then took him to Stoke and then Millwall.

There's been a strong analysis department for awhile. Billy Davies was very keen on player and game analysis from what we hear from Darren Robinson on Radio Derby.

I've also been told by a friend who worked at the club years ago under GSE, that they were very keen on player metrics and play by play analysis. GSE had plenty of experience from the various US sports teams they owned/involved with. This is another thing they invested heavily in at Moor Farm.

Rams TV did an excellent insight into the analysis department 6 years ago. The two junior staff interviewed on this, Tom Green is now senior analyst at Manchester United and Sam Thacker is now first team analyst at Tottenham. Joe Carnall is back at Birmingham as chief scout.

Well, colour me stupid.

Of course it makes perfect sense. It's just that I'd seen the story of an analyst joining but didn't know ours had left.

I hope his duties at Roverum did not include away games. They’ve not won a match on the road for 15 months!

We won on Saturday with him there.
