It would be a right kick in the teeth if we wasted time with Waghorn, giving him minutes in friendly games for him then to sign for a rival team.

It would certainly bring into question Paul Warnes 'pull' if a player who has previously played for Derby, lives near Derby and has been training with Derby for 3 weeks goes and signs for a club 2 hours up the road 😆

Or a reflection of the financial position the club are in, where we’re not able to match another club’s wages / length of contract on offer. Pure speculation anyway, we don’t know what Waggy’s doing until it’s announced.

It wouldn't.  It would be a strange interpretation of events made by someone who has already decided what they want to see.

Unless... all the stuff Warne said was untrue and Waghorn comes out and says he can't stand the bloke, used the training to put himself in the shop window and turned down a better offer from us for the glamour of Blackpool.

We have a pre-agreed budget with the EFL that we seemingly can’t shift on, even with sales,

important to listen carefully to the long RD warne interview. He confirms that our owner’s caution and not the EFL is the reason for our lack of ambition in the window. DC has a duty to his wider family as custodian of their assets and we should expect nothing different. Fair play to him

Tin foil hats on - PW says people in football lie, we're being mucked around by clubs/strikers we really want and nothing's moving, good relations with blackpool where he's always been going and Waggy as his son is in academy, he trains/trials with us very publicly, we talk of a potential deal, PW discusses how little we have left for incoming players and suddenly other clubs/strikers pretty sure we're about to sign our only other perm striker suddenly stop mucking about and bob's your uncle we get who we really want, waggy goes to blackpool and everyone lives happliy ever after. Sorry have had some wine!

Waggy is in lads.

Hope you’re right. Any chance of sharing where you’ve heard this? Someone else earlier has said that he’s going to Blackpool because they’ve offered more money, the source being a youth player.

I’m afraid he’s a WUM, and a bad one too
