The EFL kept our £8.3m!

From the DCFC statement:

"These issues also led the EFL to preclude the Club from drawing down circa £8.3 million of financial assistance, as was made available to all other Championship clubs in respect of settling PAYE liabilities, further aggravating our cash flow and ability to meet our financial obligations."

So there is no vendetta against Mel?

They were right to withheld the money. It would have just delayed the inevitable of us going into administration.

Yes Dava, if we do go down there will be 15000 plus of us fighting to get the  club back to where it belongs. Not incessantly moaning about what might have been. COYR

Yes mate I can't be bothered with this pound of flesh from Mel rubbish I hope he does the same as Jeff Mostyn did at Bournemouth and keep putting funds into the club after Administration, but I am sure this will just cause issues with EFL. As a fan base we need to be supporting Rooney and the team now.

Getting angry at the departing owner won't solve any issues. Energy needs directing to onfield matters

It's a loan. Why would anyone loan a club like Derby anything?

Taxpayers money thrown at the financial blackhole that is dcfc?

And all the other Championship clubs aren't? It was meant as financial support needed owing to Covid. Why should there be strings attached to a loan to help clubs who need money? Deny them the money they need and send them under. Nice one EFL.

You know that's how it was? No, of course you don't. I'm sure you can think of a range of circumstances whereby some qualify and some don't.

Maybe. If we knew it was 50% champ qualified then fine, but if it were 21 other teams qualify but not Derby then it would be a bit surprising no? (Reading for example)

I don’t understand football - football clubs are about the fans yet when a clubs board runs the club poorly which is hard to watch for the fans, the EFL then come in and punish the fans further ultimately and not the shoddy directors. All makes no sense and yet the 6 trying to breakaway to the super league get even less punishment than we are now facing. Football is a farce.

It will be interesting to have all the information about this, all parties will have a view on it

What I don’t understand is why the EFL don’t want to help a member club when it is struggling and I know we aren’t the first and we won’t be the last but the EFL have so many people who wonder what a load of useless people they are.

That statement blamed everyone and everything apart from the 1 person who is ultimately responsible and that's Mel Morris. He's led us down this path with his dodgy accounting methods, overspending and egotripping to the point he's killed the club. Surprised that statement didn't blame a casino as he put all his money on black at roulette and lost or blamed us for not buying enough tickets.

He's an utter coward who still can't take responsibility for the absolute mess he's left us in.

That's how a narcissists mind works, everybody else is to blame apart from themselves.
