The judge at The racists trial admitted that Terry did indeed use racist comments towards Ferdinand...and It is safe to say that Wayne Bridge hasn’t got him on speed dial either.
Horrible human being that shouldn’t be anywhere near out club.

No he didn't.

Come on. I think JT a dick, but I am far from certain that he might be racist, notwithstanding he probably did call Ferdinand something with a nastily intended describing word and a vulgar expletive. As for shagging someone’s ex. is that a crime over in the USA. I was unaware it was here. I bet there are a lot on our books already who have used inappropriate words in the heat of competitive sporting battle, and/or have carnal knowledge of other players WAGs.

If we start winning the so called circus will soon be forgotten.

This is what I don't understand about the rumours about Rooney.

If he does well, why wouldn't we consider him permanently? The only nonsensical one is that he is a terrible manager but we go with him anyway.

Seems like a pretty low-stakes way to test him out to me.

Not denying he appeared to do what he did. Just wonder how many of our fan base would not want terry because of that incident, but would happily welcome eranio to the coaching staff.

Personally think people should be afforded a second chance, be it John Terry, Eranio etc...

I am not a fan of Terry either so not particularly sticking up for him, just feel that something that happened in the heat of the moment several years ago should not stand against him for life.

All for giving people second chances, think he’s had that at Villa, just not at my club.

The man is vile and in the heat of the moment your true thoughts and views come out so that just reinforces my view I don’t want him at my club.

Rooney wants the job that’s pretty clear, if he doesn’t get it would he get on with it and be professional

He's competitive and ambitious, he'd work towards getting experience to get a position when he's finished playing imo.

Get real, you can lip read can’t you, you may have no moral compass but I have

I can give lip reading a good go (though its certainly not something i specialise in).

I imagine so can the judge that found him not guilty.

Lip reading someone saying black and concluding they are a racist does not give you any more of a moral compass than me.

Surely he could have used really unacceptable language, y'know the N-word? Mostly everyone knows what words are utterly verboten?

Well it wouldn't really matter what word he used, in the context of how he explained why he used the word, which the judge, with witness evidence, concluded was plausible enough for Terry to be found not guilty.

I dunno, it's difficult to say what the intent was. He's not a rocket scientist and so if you're winding someone up you go for something that 'gets to them'? But the point others seemed to be making was that it wasn't just repetition? So if it wasn't...

If it wasnt then it was racial abuse (which is what he was found not guilty of).

Whethet that makes him a racist or not is not for me to decide.

The judge thought he heard enough evidence to conclude Terry was very unlikely to be a racist.

But people on an internet forum who know absolutely naff all about him other than what they are told by the sensationalising media think different.

I know who's opinion I would give more weight to.

Yeah I guess that's what I meant. I dunno everything is so 'cut and dried' nowadays. Life isn't that straightforward.

If it was one of these 2, I’d prefer Rooney for a few reasons - not going into the debatable past discretions of both men.

Rooney already knows the squad and would need less time to learn the strengths and weaknesses of each player.

Rooney would likely open up more opportunities to attracting players to the team as he is the more iconic player.

I’m pretty sure Rooney would be able to call on the likes of Sir Alex for advice if needed, who else better to get valuable information from to get you started in a new management career?

Rooney is/was supposedly one of the hardest working players in training throughout his career. Perhaps we can channel that into training sessions for our squad.

It will hopefully mean less minutes for Rooney on the pitch, which could be a blessing disguise. However, if he were to decide the tactics and make the calls on the pitch we might see a better output from him as we will maybe play to his strengths.

I’d still prefer a manager with more experience though, but none of the names mentioned so far are particularly exciting for me for one reason or another.
