AndyinLiverpool
Something needs to change with Bairstow. He can't justify his place as a batter or wicketkeeper at the moment. He doesn't seem capable of playing a proper test innings. Ramrob, ziggyram59 and Henrycav81
bcnram
The lack of any sort of batting discipline is astounding. So much time left, so few brain cells. AndyinLiverpool, ziggyram59 and NG2Ram

Who knew that batting a number 5 at number 5 might be a good idea, although Ali at 3 clearly didn't work. Optimism safely crushed. C'mon Lando, punt verstappen off at turn one and cheer everyone up. Ram-Alf
I'd have sooner sat in a waiting room at the dentist and had a tooth pulled without anaesthetic when watching that last hour, I was almost wavering and gave up...but hey 👍 SKRam and ziggyram59 1

RadioactiveWaste
Let's not get carried away, old Trafford is still a must win. Ok, let's get carried away a bit. Then I saw Chris Wokes, now I'm a believer, not a trace of doubt in my mind.... SKRam
Grumpy Git
Foakes in for Bairstow for OT, otherwise unchanged. Bairstow's got no right to be picked as a batter whatsoever after six attempts to prove himself. Comrade 86
Seldom have I seen an Ashes test win elicit so little joy 😂 Anyone would think we'd lost! In actual fact, given the way we've played at times in this game, I'd say we were value for more than 3 or 4 wickets and I'm looking forward to Old Trafford, which ought to be a pretty intense affair. Bubbling up nicely, I'd say! Carnero and SKRam

A whitewashing avoided, a test win against the number 1 side in the world, the Ashes series still alive and scope for better yet... Work to be done, for sure, but I'd say there are reasons to be cheerful. SKRam, Eddie and Ewe Ram 1
