Yes the referee make mistakes...... but what will do me up is folk taking as if they are biased..... as it’s some sort of conspiracy.

I do wonder what joy some of you get out of moaning about an official, week in week out some of you moan. I guess you’re the types who’ll mock a 15/16 year old trying to start out in a kids game..... sounds like some of you have punditanitis, believe everything a pundit/player or manager has to say when a ref makes a mistake.

Its bordering on pathetic, you’ll be sorry when one day, over here..... a official gets attacked or receives a targeted campaign against him/her. You’re heroes will instigate it, and  He masses will follow suit, until one dies the unthinkable...... winning at all costs matters now, so we need a scapegoat to mask failings of players and managers.

I do hope one day we can mic refs up..... but that won’t happen as clubs won’t allow it. Expect referees to be right all the time. It won’t happen. They ain’t robots, they are human.

Shortage in this country and I fear the young kids on a Sunday morning getting in the neck a lot more than some.

Debate abd disagree..... but respect instead of mock, stop falsely accusing of bias...... money has ruined it, not the officials.

Rant over

couldn't agree more the ref can only give it how he sees it ,the fact the ref in last nights game booke Jerome proves he saw it from a different angle and not the actual contact ,dead easy from the stands or in front of the tv.

We were unlucky yesterday, no doubt. It's also true that we didn't play great and other days we would have put away the chances we had. There's been a few games this season that we probably deserved a draw but took all three points, so I'm not too devastated to be on the other side of that.

The fact that we can play far from our best, miss some sitters, be denied a penalty and still pick up a point against a promotion rival is a testament to how fantastic our defense is and how far we've come as a team. I don't think it can be over emphasised how good Keogh/Davis/Carson are at this level.

Annoys me. It happens, officials make well into 3 figures of decisions a match. I’ll hazard a guess 97/98% are correct decisions.

It's a bit like having a ugly girlfriend who is great at everything but you don't really fancy her.......whereas the last girlfriend was stunning and  occasionally completely crazy but you loved them all the more for it.

Or like a gorgeous ex boyfriend who couldn’t get it up and went off with someone else anyway, compared to the current one who’s a bit rough but goes like a train and wants to marry you.

Did you watch this match, Mafia? If you did, you should be saying that close to 98/98% of his decisions were wrong. In your earlier comment, you said we should respect the officials, but respect has to be earned. And if the ref makes 2 or 3 mistakes, well fairs-do's, he is only human. But when his entire performance is littered with errors, and especially when those errors favour one team over the other, the officials deserve everything they get.

As i walked past the front of the stadium, the Rams TV camera was there calling fans over for their opinion. I wanted to be called over so I could suggest that Derby County lock the officials in a secure room for a couple of days, and only let them out when no-one is looking. I was seriously concerned for their safety, although they deserved to be taken to task for the disgraceful performance.

We could write to the Football League about it, but there is no point. They have referees at every match acting as assessors, but very little is done to try and correct refereeing ineptitude, almost as though they can't see anything wrong in how the officials referee a game.

One of the most completely blinkered statements I’ve seen for a long time.....

Taken to task...... I won’t ask how, as I know full well what you’re alluding to.

Pretty pathetic response.... really shows the contempt people give officials, they get things wrong..... I accept, so do players and managers.

With that highlighted comment on your post..... that’s when it becomes hateful and dangerous.

No one deserves to be taken to task just because they may have made an error.

Im guessing you’re of the Mourinho school of thought..... criticise an official and blame them..... and then sit back and watch the hordes threaten an official with death etc (see Anders Frisk), you agree with that as “taken to task”?????

One day you’ll realise this game won’t function properly without an official. One day one of them will be assaulted/killed, because of comments like that.

Pathetic

I didnt think he had that bad a game, yes he got the penalty wrong and I was unhappy at the time of course i was, but you can see that Jerome made it easy for him not to give it. The only person that needs to be taken to task is Jerome for his theatrical dive, if he had just gone down normally he would probably have got the penalty.

This thread is in danger of morphing into a retro vidiprinter with all these results being posted.

Im still not sure what people are trying to prove when they post a set of results showing Villa have a better record against a certain team? If we only draw or lose away to Wolves but still go up will it mean Forest are actually a better team because they beat Wolves?

He stayed on his feet literally a minute before and didn’t get anything as he was dragged all over the shop. If the contact isn’t enough to bring the player down but is enough to impede them then they don’t get penalties.

I think that the only thing it proves is that championship results are unpredictable and incomparable but that was common knowledge anyway.

Mclovin made a statement about refs and the football league conspiring to cheat Derby to make the league more exciting. That was ludicrous, but for gods sake to suggest posters like him and the one above will result in a Ref being killed is just as ludicrous. Grow up, it’s a forum, where people vent their spleen over a bad decision. He made a mistake, 99% of people including him will know that now. Any football fan worth their salt, can run the club better than the owner. Select the team better than the manager. Play better than the striker. Why you’re surprised our skill set doesn’t extend to being able to officiate better than the ref is beyond me. Lighten up a little, most people know it’s a difficult if not impossible job to do, let’s not get carried away with the case for the defence though
