Woodypecker Posted June 21, 2017 Share Posted June 21, 2017 It's a World Cup year, the senior England team is short on quality in central midfield; Boothroyd & Southgate are aware of Will's qualities and would anticipate promoting him to the squad if he becomes a proven Prem midfielder. Derby cannot provide him with that platform next season, after serial failings and inept/unstable management - yep, Will has played a part in that shortfall but his lay-offs and misuse by successive managers have devalued him and submerged his potential contribution. He is young but will still be fondly remembered for a fine servant to the club, he deserves his chance. If he was there would be serious competition for his signature which there patently isn't.
