The Save Will Hughes Thread

It's a World Cup year, the senior England team is short on quality in central midfield; Boothroyd & Southgate are aware of Will's qualities and would anticipate promoting him to the squad if he becomes a proven Prem midfielder.

Derby cannot provide him with that platform next season, after serial failings and inept/unstable management - yep, Will has played a part in that shortfall but his lay-offs and misuse by successive managers have devalued him and submerged his potential contribution.

He is young but will still be fondly remembered for a fine servant to the club, he deserves his chance.

Even better if GR can reinvest in the squad and perhaps land a canny signing on loan from a top Prem club to replace him...

Will Hughes is the male version of that super hot girlfriend that you had when you were younger.

You knew she will eventually end up with the rich, handsome man with the Ferrari but you didn't expect her to end up with some bloke down the pub in the XR3i and for the price of a packet or pork scratchings.

Why bring the ownership into this? Surely it's down to the manager.

Maybe the decision was made before GR came in. There must have been a reason why he was only picked adhoc. Also the purchases pre Clement.. Manager or ownership?

We will never know for sure but it is not impossible. FFP will force a managers hand and the ownership will do that without hesitation.

Why all the hand wringing, yes he is fairly good on his fairly rare days but not some football genius. If he was there would be serious competition for his signature which there patently isn't. So 19 Premiership managers and 24 Championship managers are pretty unimpressed and some of you think they are all wrong!

Newbie here.

If we can find 250000 people prepared to donate £50 each, we can get Will to stay. I'll start with my £50......lets see how much you really want him to stay.

Sorry to be so cruel to you on your first post. But this is ridiculous for many reasons  The  main one where are you going to find 250000 Rams fan never mind 250000 who are prepared to donate £50.Trust Gary Rowett what hes doing is for the good of the club and in turn for the fans.

UI am a big admirer of Will but its unfair to think he alone can carry us up to the prm

*insert name of current DCFC manager

Will wouldn't have to carry us to the Prem on his own if we hadn't bought such cr@p, expensive mundane players to support him!

Watch what happens, and who turns out to be Watford's best player this season. Don't think there's any doubt he's gonna shine.
