Why would anyone any good want to come to Derby?

Manager, Coach, or player.

Or fans like you

We're going through a bad patch for sure. But the idea that we aren't an attractive proposition is a bit much. Clement was given a ton of money to spend and was sacked because the football wasn't good enough. That tells any potential manager, player or coach that the chairman demands attractive football above promotion. Who doesn't want to be at a club which demands good football? Most would surely jump at the chance.

And often, as a manager, trigger happy chairmen can be good to work for. Clement's stock remains high and if our next manager gets sacked with the team in the playoffs theirs will be too and they'll have a nice payoff to boot (assuming gross misconduct isn't involved).

So yeah, I don't agree at all.

The Derby job is miles away from being a poison chalice and even if it was you would still be able to attract managers. Look at Newcastle, widely considered to be one yet Rafa on the brink of taking over.

Leeds and Forest would be appointing the car park staff by now.

The Derby job is a huge one which is why so many hats were thrown into the ring.

Great training facilities, cash-rich owner, great support (most of the time), young squad, no debt of any note...What a terrible club.

Most managers (unproven at top level/young) with ambition would love a chance at this club.

It probably was before Nigel Clough steadied the ship and held down the job for a good few years

i think we're a better prospect than some bottom half prem teams, chaiman that will invest, good stadium, good facilities if i was a manager id prefer to take over us than a sunderland etc

Manager, Coach : easy higher than current league only 20 jobs in one of the most coveted leagues in the world, so small market, some of those rarely come round eg Arsenal. We are currently one if not the most attractive opportunities with the backing of a rich chairman and every chance of success.

Players easy again we must be offering attractive packages with a good chance of career success. Unless a regular squad player in the Prem again why wouldn't you?

Outside the Prem we ARE a big club!
