Hartlepool United v Derby County

First time we've come from behind to win this season.

A good example of how far team and manager have come in 5 months - last time we faced a League 2 side away in a cup competition and made 10 changes, we were on the wrong side of the 2-1 result.

Hartlepool had one shot on target to derbys six ... According to the Bbc stats. And 42% possession. Well done for pushing Derby hard tho ... useful run out for Bryson and bucko altho both may have been a bit rusty.

Well he did guess that bent would play. Biased  reporting is usually a bad thing but in stelling's case we can make an exception. Got to admire him sticking with Hartlepool.

Sounds a pretty perfect outcome.

  • We came from behind to win, which is always good for squad spirit.
  • Mitchell made his debut.
  • Bent scored his 200th career goal.
  • Bucko and Bryson played after very long periods out injured.
  • The two new signings both had a run out.
  • 90 minutes for the likes of Pearce, Shotton, Baird.and Bent who will have needed it badly.

This is why I want a cup run - long may it continue. Let the reserves take us to Wembley!
