LesterRam
Ince, he could have become the forgotten man but those to show some metal, I'm expecting an even better second half.
jagerbob
Cyrus has been the best, I give Shackell a very close 2nd.

Howard Canitbé
Stephen Warnock. Written off after a single game by so many of our fans, he's quietly gotten on with what he does best since Forsyth's injury. Outstandingly consistent performer, and an exceptional professional attitude. My second and third choices would be Richard Keogh and Cyrus Christie. I Am Sheep
Shackell AND Keogh jointly. They aren't players, they are a single entity. An impervious wall made of unobtanium and leftover granite chippings from the Davey Mac statue. I find it so difficult to comprehend how good we are defensively, for once in my own life at least. SIWY
Shackell, he was absolutely excellent yet again today as he consistently is.

bcnram
For his transformation from playing on his backside way too much, to a solid defender it has to be Richard Keogh. Well done Paul Clement for bringing him on.
Warren Hobhead
Christie for me, edging out Keogh, just. I've been super impressed by Warnock recently though and Butterfield the pick of midfield since he settled down.
maydrakin
Keogh is shading it at the minute. It's nice to see so many options for POTY at this point.
England Ram
In my order at the half way mark:- keogh shackell christie warnock thorne Butterfield Johnson Martin Ince I think you could make an argument for everyone on the list. What a blessed situation we are currently in.
AndyB
I agree, lots of candidates, which shows what a good team we have. Forest away showed what can happen when they start playing as individuals. Anyway, my vote goes for Johnson, we hadn't won before he arrived and he has that presence that reassures everyone else, a vital piece of the jigsaw and one of the key differences from recent seasons. jagerbob
Christie, Shackell, Keogh in that order, up until the last month to 6 weeks, Carson would have possibly been 4th on my list too.
The Scarlet Pimpernel
Richard Keogh by a country mile. His performance yesterday typified for me his season. Wrongly villified by some last season he has not only proved his doubters completely wrong he is for me the stand out centre back in the championship. Superb at this level. Wolfie20
Top 5 in order Keogh Warnock Carson Christie Shackell All defenders so does that indicate how improved our defence is or how disappointing the midfield and attack have been? Maybe a bit of both perhaps.
RiddingsRam
I think I'd have to say shackell, although the rest of the defence have performed well I think the reason behind that is shackell he reads the game so so well that he rarely needs to make a challenge! Forgotten to be fair, it was Boxing Day and was having a moment away from the kids, he's played well and the confidence he's given the back four has been good. On my list of put him before Marin but after The midfielders. Thats a solid 10 people you could make a case for. Again, even more of a blessing.
