In my opinion most players that are unproven in the Premiership, especially if they have been tried a few times are only attractive to Championship Clubs or newly promoted clubs, either as permanent signings or as loans. Paying Ince to go straight into a premiership side is unlikely except for newly promoted clubs. We are a good option but realisticallyby  taking him on loan. I think that Clement would maybe be interested if he looks at the DVDs of Ince's goals for Derby..

In much the same way as we have xxxxxxram and posters like that (where xxxxxx is 'valley' or 'american' or 'muespach', there's probably an 'alvastonvikingo' or 'ilammerengue' who posts all the Bryson, Ince and Martin goals all over the Real Madrid message boards.

He will know.

Been reading hulls fans forum and not alot rate ince good enough for there team - even at championship level... are they deluded ?

Hull are favourites to win the championship not sure why but if ince can't get in their team then maybe they really are the best team that will, play in the championship next season.

I also expect that they suspect that we expect to sign him

Well, you ARE the pedantic police officer, so I suspect that they would be your prime suspect.

Good news

HULL City are locked in a fight with Championship rivals Derby County to keep hold of Tom Ince.

The 23-year-old is wanted by the Rams, where he spent the second half of last season on loan from the Tigers.

The ex-Liverpool and Blackpool player is expected back in Hull next month for pre-season, having signed a two-year with the Tigers when he moved from the Tangerines.

However, the Mail has learnt as part of Ince's loan deal to Derby in January this year, a buy-out clause was inserted which allows the Rams to purchase the England under-21 international this summer.

Derby are now understood to have informed City of their intention to exercise the option to sign Ince, after his impressive spell at the iPro Stadium.

But City manager Steve Bruce is keen to hold on to the attacking player. After hitting a rich seam of form shortly after leaving for Derby Bruce insisted Ince still had a future at the KC.

While unable to change the terms of the agreement preventing an offer from Derby, City are attempting to block the move by asking for the whole amount up front as a single payment. The Tigers will tell Derby to pay up or any deal is off, with the Rams having hoped to pay in instalments, as is often the case in transfer deals.

Ince is yet to make it clear where his preference lies, but City will dig their heels in to keep hold of what they see as a good young asset.

Having made his debut in the Europa League qualifying game at Trencin last July, Ince played seven times for City, with three of those appearances in the Premier League.

His goal in the 3-2 Capital One Cup defeat at West Brom in September was his only one in a City shirt, in what proved to be his last game for the club before being sent on loan to Nottingham Forest.

Ince featured six times for Forest before returning to the KC for five more appearances.

Having looked like working his way back into Bruce's Premier League plans he then joined Derby at the start of February.

Scoring twice on his debut, nine more goals followed to convince the Rams they want to keep hold of the former England Under-21 international.

Despite the sacking of Steve McClaren and appointment of Real Madrid assistant manager Paul Clement, Derby remain determined to keep hold of Ince.

"what they see as a good young asset."

Why put that clause in his loan then? They underestimated his ability and thought they were staying up. Foolish on their part.

Hopefully he will realise he clearly wasn't wanted there and request a move. There's good lad, Tom.
