Another thing, people like to reference his WBSS fight with Joyce but Joyce still landed some big shots. Joyce's hooks and combinations as so slow you could make a cup of tea between each one, doesn't necessarily indicate he'd survived against a guy that can really bang. He caught most of Chisora's shots on his gloves or they just grazed him when you watched the replays, still have reservations about the chin.

I don’t think Usyk has the punching power to succeed at heavyweight but anything below that weight level he will dominate.

I remember thinking the same about Holyfield back in the day.

Off the top of my head, Riddick Bowe used his superior weight advantage, but Evander managed to use his speed and heart to negate many others.

Usyk is going to face the best Chisora.

He did, and he was still too good. I do think he'll come up short against either Joshua, Wilder or Fury but anyone else he will dance around and win on points.

That Gervonta Davis knockout was something - him against Lopez would be a real mouth watering prospect and it would be pretty hard to call. He is, however and with sympathy for what was as hellish a childhood as you could ever imagine, straight from the camp of 'great boxer, truly awful human being'.

Usyk looked pretty ordinary. Expected a lot more from him to be honest and find it hard to see him troubling AJ or Fury. Probably get some stick for it but I thought the best performance on the night, by some way, was from Savannah Marshall who looks a star in the making.

She beat Clarissa Shields in the amateurs, her career got derailed when she signed for Mayweather's promotional outfit and they literally did nothing for her. She just seems too strong for the competition and has a far better skillset.

Really liked her style - rangy with great footwork. She called out Sheilds straight away so a unification fight may be on. Biggest fight ever in women's boxing if so?

Yeah I think so, Shields has a big mouth but seems reluctant to sign contracts which is the bit that counts.

Was hoping Kell could catch Crawford with a big shot but it wasn't to be. Ward on comms made a good comment about Kell being great at everything but unable to adjust and he was bang on. Crawford changed to southpaw to shorten the distance on his right hand and Kell made no adjustments then walked straight on to it. Real shame but Kell just doesn't have that boxing IQ to be elite level, great fighter on plan A but never has a plan B. Surely time to retire now?

Looking forward to Dubois v Joyce on Saturday, hopefully it's a good fight.

I haven't seen too much of Dubois, just quick ko's when I've watched. Does he have skills and stamina to win on points? I've seen a few knockout specialists run out of gas and ideas over the years, when an opponent stands up to their power, so will be interesting if Joyce can really test him.

Seen quite a bit of Dubois but none of his opponents were sent to test him. It's typical Frank Warren... move them up the rankings by picking easy fights and then go for a world title against an opponent 100 levels up from what you're used to.

Lartey tested him. Had him unsteady but the ref couldn't wait to wave it off. Need to actually see him have to think his way through a fight.

I reckon it will come down to who gets knackered of swinging first. Always back the younger man.

Did anyone watch Connor Benn the other night - OMG I thought he was impressive, I really couldn't find a weakness, he looks destined to be better than is DAD

I didn't but in the past he tends to try and swarm opponents and leaves his chin out for a bit too long. He must have improved but he has had some tough fights so maybe they taught him to take his time more?

Warren has always been the same.

Lartey was ko’d by Fabio Wardley, on Connor Benn card, a few weeks ago. Strange knockout as it wasn’t a huge punch.

Yeah, he had Dubois on jelly legs. Partly I think because Dubois used energy up trying to level him. But that's why he needs Warren to do more than line up punchbags

Joyce is a good fight tbf.

Problem is, don't you think Joyce is slowww. Dubois will stand in the middle and swing big punches, but Joyce won't trade blow for blow, his punches are so slow I can't see him rocking Dubois or punishing him at all. I can see Dubois cruising to a victory, personally.

Yeah. Slow and for an Olympic boxer doesn't do any boxing ?

It's at least a guy who will stand up to Dubois like Lartey but this time the fight won't get waved if Joyce looks at the canvas.

He throws big hits, but I can't see too much landing on Dubois' chin. I've been a big fan of Dubois, I liked seeing him dominate Gorman, I just can't see Joyce being the guy who stops him. Dubois is gonna stand and bang, and I can't see Joyce trading well into that. I think it's good for British boxing should Dubois win.
