Meh, Zaha's never impressed me much, rest are good though.

Zaha wasn't playing yesterday.

In fact, Palace haven't won a single game when he hasn't played.

We do have some brilliant players at championship level..but then we have some right ***** to counteract these players.... result being ....mid table...

I don't think that we have a single brilliant player at championship level. We have a hell of a good team spirit though - when the cocks in the south east corner aren't trying to destroy it, that is.

Please list the ***** players, just so I know.

In my opinion Sammon, Coutts, Davis, Bucko, Roberts are players I see as below mid table standard....Bryson, Hughes, Hendrick, Brayford, Keogh, (Ward if he could stay fit) are players I think could take us to at least the play offs...the rest are probably around mid table standard over a season...

Just my opinion

Agree on above (sheeponacid) but I think Hendrick is head and tails our standout player. To say he was only average last night is shocking. Won the pen, scored, through ball to Bryson, the ball to Sammon, the ball to Davies, spread the play countlessly, he is getting stronger and stronger and for me, it's because will Hughes is NOT next to him.

I just want him and Bryson to command more.

We're a bag of **** defensively in midfield. Too much space and time is given to oppo midfielders. If we want to go forward then Hendrick and Bryson are going to need to improve significantly in that department or we have to replace them.

Fail to do either of those and we'll have a season the same as this, as we did last year etc.

A decent wide right player, two decent strikers, I am not sure if Chris Martin is one of them, and we will be fine.

I do think we need a centre back until/if Barks gets fit, and a left back to go with it. So 5 players short of being top 6.

Guess Cloughs five years of building is based on one good player a season!

I'm yet to see what all the fuss is about Wilshere if I'm honest. He looks neat and tidy, but he also is a horrible little **** and very nasty. I don't see him becoming the world-beater people predict. Will Hughes should have a better England career than Wilshere.

So Wilshire is just 'neat and tidy' and you don't see the fuss and Jeff Hendrick is 'brilliant'

So you think Jeff is better than Wilshire then?

Or do you just think Jeff is brilliant in comparison with.. let's say.. Coutts?

I personally think Iniesta is brilliant. But do you think he's as good as Jeff?

Appologies I misquoted the wrong person.

Jeff hendrick is 21 - born jan 1992

He will continue to improve year on year.

At the moment he is still learning, and still growing.

As he gets physically stronger he will get better.

As he gains experience, he will get better.

This year he has scored 7 goals from midfield so far.

Last season he got 4. The season before that, he got 0.

This year his 6 league goals have been worth about 6 points.

Last year, this four goals were worth about 2.5 points.

Therefore this year his improvement has been worth 3.5 points to us.

At the moment that 3.5 points is worth 4 or 5 league places.

He is currently our fourth highest league goal scorer this season.

his record this year puts him in the top 12 championship midfielders

(Assuming Ward is a striker)

The highest scoring midfielder is....surprisingly....Sako at wolves with 9 goals.

The other higher scoring midfielders are :

john jackson ( charlton) 8

Adam clayton (huddersfield) 8

Antonio (Sheff wed) 8

koren and aluko (both hull) 8

chris eagles (bolton) 8

david lopez (brighton) 7

whittingham and gunnarsson (both cardiff) 7

anthony knockaert (leicester) has 7

So thats pretty good, and with continued improvement next year he could be even better.

Now consider their ages.....

Sako 24

Jackson 30

Clayton 24

Antonio 23

Koren 32

Aluko 24

Eagles 27

Lopez 30

Whittingham 28

Gunnarsson 23

Knochaert 21 born nov 1991

So.....jeff is the highest scoring midfielder for his age in the championship.

Only knockaert can compare with him.

I think i would be pretty pleased with that if i was jeff or nigel......or even just a fan.

I saw the comment if he was brilliant he would be playing regularly for his country.

Don't forget he could still be playing for ROI's u21s. Instead he's named as either starting or sub with the full team.

He's a great player for this level, and could quite easily be a development/squad option for one of the lower prem teams - Norwich/Sunderland/Villa etc

I think everyone is pretty pleased with Hendrick unless I missed something?

Average NPC midfielder with potential to be an average PL player

I would add 'above' at the start of this statement.

Correct

Jeff wouldn't get into Forests starting 11

Even though he has out performed podgy and co?

Would do a job in any championship midfield.

Has the potential to become one of the best cm's in the championship and you don't know maybe a premier league player.

Needs to progress at derby first.

Yes. Needs a ball player alongside him. He has an able box-to-box player in Bryson but misses Hughes' ability to play the first time ball and create space.
