Friday 1st April is pivotal in the history of DCFC from what has been written by Percy et al. If it transpires we don't have a PB that comes up to the valuation (and it seems that may be the case)and Q have gone to the nth degree, then MM and Pearce will be the most despised people not only in Derby and Derbyshire but in homes all across the country, and around the world. Chelsea takeover will be put in the background whilst our demise will be all over Sky. Money, as so many have said in the past, has ruined this beautiful game. Greedy agents and some greedy players have taken our money and run. Very very sad tonight for everyone affected, including my son and myself. It's like sitting at the side of a bed where you are watching someone so precious to you ebbing away in front of eyes and you can't do anything about it. Please Mel DON'T LET THIS MAGNIFICENT CLUB DIE - I BEG YOU!!!

The Clubs have paid the players wages.  The Prem parachute payments have always been a problem regarding the chance to go up.  The owners are all as mad as each other.  My club, Coventry City had years of overspend even in the Premiership.  The fans are the victims.  I'm not convinced this Premier League is worth the risk for those who want to get there anyway.  The Rams, Coventry City- down to League 2 , Bolton, Wigan, Sheffield, Bristol City, Middlesborough, Portsmouth, Cardiff, Swansea, Charlton,  Sunderland, Ipswich.  Jeez, i never realised just how precarious the league structure is.
The EFL has a lot to answer for.

Bielik played the full ninety minutes as Poland beat Sweden 2-0 to book their place in Qatar. Should boost his confidence.

Hey, I’m from Burton on Trent. ?
    Can’t beat a Bacon Splash!
Agree the (fried not grilled) bacon has to have some decent fat but not streaky.
And the tinned tomatoes must be cooked in the frying pan of the leftover bacon juice (that’s the secret ?)
All held together between two slices of doorstep thick crusty white bread.
Add brown sauce to finish if you like, but definitely not ketchup.
    Perfection ?
Can be eaten at breakfast or any time of the day ?

Miss Wolfie woke up today with a temperature & tested positive.
That's Thursday's holiday to Mexico down the toilet.
We've avoided it for two bloody years. Why did it have to be 2 days before we go on holiday?!

With the spiralling cost of fuel and other essential items, particularly the cost of heating your home, it has been been reported that a further million people will be plunged into poverty over the next month, with half of them children. Many families will be faced will the awful choice of eating or heating.
The UK average spend of food and drink is £40 a week. However many survive on a fraction of this. Therefore to shine a light on this, experience a little and raise some money, My lad and I will be living on £1 a day each on food and drink for a week, a total of £14 for the two of us.
We are going to start this on Easter Monday (a kind of belated lent) and hopefully manage the full 7 days. Obviously this won't be easy but I won't pretend this is anything like suffering many people will be going through around the country.
Almost 2 years ago, David and I launched a campaign on here to raise money for the Derby Mission Food Bank when many people were laid off due to Covid. I am looking to do the same again, with anyone who can afford it donating to the same cause. I am hoping we can raise £1000. I will be donating the difference in what I would normally spend on a supermarket shop for the two of us.
I will set up a specific DCFC Fans donate account and provide a link in the next couple of days.
In the meantime, maybe posters could share experiences and ideas around this area. Many on here will be able to donate but many posters may also need help, so I hope we can come together and help each other.
I will do a diary entry on here on how we manage, how we shop, what we eat and how we feel.

Hard to beat the Full English that sticks to the irrefutable laws of breakfasts (that I made up) as follows:
At least two sausages, maybe three if you're gluttonous or have done/will be doing some manual labour within a week.
Two rashers of bacon, not underdone but not so crisp it breaks your teeth. Bit of fat on, but never streaky, you're not Canadian.
Two fried eggs, lovely crack of black pepper over the top of them at the table. Poached allowed only if you're at a fancy place, in which case why aren't you ordering Eggs Benedict, you heathen? You don't belong in a place like this. Scrambled allowed only if you're a lorry driver or roofer. Boiled egg (yes I've seen it)? Have a word with yourself. Any place that overcooks the eggs should be added to your personal blacklist.
One ladle of baked beans. No cup, no side bowl and never placed directly next to the egg.  Use the sausage as a breakwater (Aha!)
Half a grilled tomato. If you're from Burton on Trent and use tinned tomatoes, for the love of God take a trip to somewhere more cultured. Like Derby. If you're from Swad and call it "Splash", go to Burton first. Take a long look in the mirror if you question the inclusion of the tomato, order it but leave it on the side of your plate, or worst of all try to swap it out for more beans.
One grilled portobello mushroom, no extra accoutrements like parsley or herby butter thank you very much.
One thick slice of quality black pudding. Enjoy all that iron and try not to think what's in it. Get it from Bury if you can.
One slice of thickly cut toast and butter OR Fried Bread. Never both, you bleeding carb loader you.
No hash browns, no tomato ketchup (use the beans you moron), and no poncey additions of token salad leaf. This isn't healthy, don't try and pretend it is. Brown sauce for the sausage and bacon if you consider yourself Northern.
Do not order if outside of England, else expect delights such as cucumber and cress (Amsterdam), cured ham (Spain) and pickled onions (Copenhagen) to adorn your plate.
If I'm making it I just have Cocoa Pops instead.

    This is mine...

Croissants, topped with smoked bacon, mushrooms and cheese and a generous dusting of nutmeg.
The mushrooms are fried in butter and Worcestershire Sauce with black pepper and a dash of dark soy sauce. The cheese is a little grated Emmental.
Butterfly the croissants and lightly toast the backs, cook everything, flip the croissants over, add a rasher of bacon to each, pile on the mushies, add the cheese, back under the grill for a minute, dust with nutmeg, serve.
Lovely. I won't be able to move until beer o'clock.

Can’t say I watch cricket or rugby, but I can tell you one thing for sure… it ain’t the football team. This is the best England have been since 1966, not even up for debate in my view. God knows why people can’t just enjoy us actually being good.

Let's again try to summarise our position only this time using visual metaphors . The first one depicts where we are right now.
Imagine all the 'good guys' are pulling on the lead and that the dog represents all of the current potential buyers...

For clarity, here's the same metaphor would look like if the buyers could actually
see some value in the deal and were keen to buy at the prices being quoted...

And to fix this problem, here's the erstwhile admins trying to persuade Morris (the dog in this case)
to drop the stadium cost and make all these problems go away forever...

Meanwhile, here's what we're all doing....

    Hope this helps! x
