Surley the fact he's previously tried to buy us and Preston will only help speed up the process of him passing the EFL fit and proper person test and getting everything finalised. It desperately needs to happen ASAP afterall.
-
Alsopp, Davies, Cashin, Fozzy, Sibely, Thompson, Ravel, Ebiowei and CKR I think will all sign new contracts given a chance for next season. We will struggle to keep all of Stearman Bryne, Buchanan, Bird, Knight and Lawrence but one or two may well stay.
Either way that would give us a good core of players to build on with some free agents and loanees for sqaud depth and competition.

As soon as EFL approve him. He’s got exclusivity and contracts can be given
We need this to happen as soon as possible. Could we push for the play offs next season in League 1 with a minus 15 if Wayne is properly backed?
-
Appleby would be my first choice however I am over the moon that Chris has stepped up to make a bid worthy of what looks like being named as the preferential bidder. The man save save our club, I can certainly get behind that.
-
Hopefully now we are on the verge of naming a preferencial bidder we can get our players signed up to new contracts before it is too late.
-
I don't understand how he goes from wanting to buy Preston to going back to buying us, although if he goes ahead to successfully purchase and save the club he will have my full support. That's what we want afterall? a preferencial bidder to be named and our club saved.

I'm starting to think it's gonna end up being Kirchner making a return if these latest rumours of an incoming PB announcement are true. He left the Preston negotiations, tweeted about all becoming clear soon and apparently a few people affiliated with BAWT were liking and responding positively to Kirchner's tweet (not checked that myself, just what I'd read on Twitter).
Looks like you could well be right. I hope it is a serious offer and he is named as the preferred bidder so we can get the ball rolling to plan for next season.

One of the reasons I have seen somewhere is people giving more than they can actually afford due to passion in dcfc.
I understand this but surley you could use the same argument about fans buying tickets when they are struggling financially, or others spending too much money in the pub. I would hope people only would give what they can afford and rich and famous fans would also get behind it and have sizable donations too.

If we could help fund another season surley it has to be worth it? What figure would be a realistic target to crowd fund?

Council buying the stadium and leasing it back with a purchase options is a great idea.
We've got some weird ducking 'supporters' on here, determined to find a problem with every solution ?
100% agree. I do start to wonder about some fans myself too, determined to find problems instead of supporting potential solutions.

Hasn’t millions of taxpayers money been spent on the velodrome? Think there would be more support to save the local football club.
100%. Derby County generates multiple times more money to the local economy than the velodrome or any leisure centre ect.

Isn’t it more about what the football club means economically for the city and the businesses that rely on the football club for business etc etc? If the council bought the ground that’s essentially what they are trying to save in the long run.
Well said. Helping to save the club will benefit the city and its local encomomy which the club contributes massively towards. Also the council will get a return on it's investment in terms of rent from the club and any other event they use it for, also leaving the door open for the stadium bought back the club in the long term.

What a result !! Ravel you beauty..

If we get liquidated can we keep the Derby County name or will we be Derby County AFC or something like that.

I’ve seen somewhere on this thread that Mel is a decent guy.
Maybe he has an account on the forums?
-
Surley it can't do any harm trying to put pressure on Mel to drop his demands to increase the likelihood of a deal happening.
-
It depends if he has a conscious and cares about the club and the community one little bit...

Appreciate the sentiment, but how?
He doesn't appear to have any local businesses we could target, he no longer turns up at game's, so how do we pressure him, beyond posting on a forum?
I think all we can do is spread the word so it will continue affect his reputation and public perception. Hopefully he won't want that to suffer for a small percentage of his net wealth.

Can we us the derby fans raise that 22m that mel wants for the ground I am sure if we can sort this maybe we can chat rooney would he be willing to throw in 10m just help get us started.
I doubt very much we can raise 22 million but every pound we can raise will help make a difference. I don't understand why the administrators haven't looked into crowd funding yet....
-
Mel Morris is quite literally killing our club at the moment. Putting us in adminstration then putting road blocks in the way of us getting out. We need to put the pressure on Mel and the administrators.

Said it all along. Liquidation
MM 10000000000% to blame
NOW IS TIME FOR PROTEST MARCH 2 BEFORE THE PRESTON GAME!!!
Protest at 13:30 hours on Saturday?

Obviously Mel coming back is far from ideal but I'd be happy to see him back if it the only way to avoid liquidated. All that matters is we have a club to support.

At least we have Rooney in charge to use his networks and experience in the game to make the most of free agents and loanees. If CK can get deal to buy the club over the line soon there will be plenty of decent free agents available.
