As much as he loves the club I would be very surprised if he saw it as a sound financial investment…
He has the net worth to be able to and knows the potential the club has. I can't see him wanting to invest either as he builds his career as a manager, but I can dream haha

George Clooney net worth £377m, Jack O'Connell is worth £1.7m, Jason Statham £379m, Wayne Rooney £120m, Robert Lindsay £3.03m and Niall Horan £53m. Are they part of the unknown 3rd bidding team ?
I wonder if Wayne would be interested in buying the club?

If everyone really did make their best and final bid on Friday, surley we should hear something over the next couple of days?

Is the George Clooney connection serious or just paper talk? He could be the mysterious third bidder. Let's hope so.
I certainly hope so, afterall he would have the finances to make it happen

Is Malcolms contact also up at the end of the season?
-
Can we get this thread to 1884 pages before the preferred bidder is named?
-
I expect a preferred bidder to be chosen within the next 5 hours after the statement earlier this week.

I have heard on the grapevine that we will announce the new owner as part of our centenary celebrations in 2084, apparently they are going to make a big show of it……the other thing I heard is that Q might own us due to the size of bill matching the asking price
Sound's about right.

I can't sleep so I checked this thread again to see there is still no news. Back to bed for another few hours then haha

I've always wanted Appleby ever since it was rumoured he would be back. I'm actually gutted he's not in already.
Who are the other 3 bidders?
Assume Ashley and the Binnies(?). Maybe msd?
I would guess the offers are Ashley, Binnies and Applebys previous bid (which he is trying to increase with further financial backing). I hope Appleby becomes the preferred bidder.

Please just give us Appleby.
Ashley and anyone else with hundreds of millions lying around could have bought us in a heartbeat six months ago. Instead, they’ve been dicking about and we’ve lost half our squad in the meantime.
Appleby strikes me as the only who who really, really wants this, and for the right reasons.
Well said, I couldn't agree more. If the likes of Ashley and Binnie really wanted us they could have bought the club months ago and saved us from being the mess we are in. Appleby genuinely appears to care about the club.

I wonder if we would be allowed to start next season still in adminstration? We would not be allowed to start 2 seasons in adminstration, but that wouldn't be the case.
It would obviously need the EFL to loosen the embargo, but if they allowed us to sign free agents and feeless loans upto a certain wage, maybe £3.5 k per week, we ought to be able to cobble together a squad for League 1. Maybe a wage bill of £8m? That should be covetable with our income from walk up tickets - assuming not allowed to sell STs, and TV money.
Hopefully it won't come to that, but better than liquidation if there is a bid still being negotiated.
I was thinking if we could pay players on new contracts up to 4.5k a week at least we could retain services of the likes of Allsop, Morrison and Stearman. All who would be great players in league one.

What consequences do Quantuma face if they consistently fail to deliver on the timescales which they've set themselves?
Cynically one could say it's in their interests to spin things out as long as they can as they then maximise their charges.
I honestly am started to agree and wonder what the agenda is in spinning this out and continously missing deadlines.

I agree 100%. I have little faith at the moment afterall how many times have we heard it before? Hopefully they stick to this one and select their preferencial bidder and share it with us fans.

What are the odds of a preferencial bidder being named come the end of the week.

I think most fans share that mentality, when we lost at the Red Dogs it didn’t seem to matter as much as usual because of the more important issues we face.
I believe we’ll survive but next season will be another struggle, we’ve lost too many players to be able to replace them all.
Ashley would’ve dropped out by now if the club was a lost cause.
I really hope so. Even league one with a points deduction so we have a club to support and follow at least.

Why don't we all chip in and buy the club?
Say £40m/20,000 loyal fans
= £2,000
I'd find that money to save my beloved club.
I think we also need to target wealthy fans, ex players and local businesses who want to help. Then normal fans will just donate what they can.

Todays result coupled with Reading’s win seals our fate in my opinion, it’s been a valiant effort but there have been too many obstacles thrown at them.
I’m assuming our impending relegation has maybe made the prospective owners really tighten up their offers?
It's not relegation which worries me but how it looks like we are on the road to liquidation. Rejected bids, no developments and the same old washed up statements from the administrators.

I feel proud of Rooney, all the management team and the players but feel angry towards Mel Morris and the EFL and disappointed in the administrators. Feeling pretty drained and heart broken, I really hope we will have a club next season as a result of it all.

Of course not but stadium or decent stake?
Exactly. We aren't trying to raise 35 million. Raising money to help pay of some creditors to help safeguard the club or ensure we have enough funds for next season would surley be a massive help?

I agree. Just a bit of wishful thinking on my behalf that Wayne may invest in the club.
