  1. All depends on how we are going to play. If its 352 then for me he doesn't really fit in or have a role. If it's 343 or 4231 then I think he would be a solid addition to the sqaud playing on either side of the front line.

Rotherham want Sibley, I’d cry if that happened. Cant see any chance of it though.

Hopefully not. What do you feel the stumbling block is at the moment.

His wage or the length of the contract we are offering?

We may have 3 wingers, but when he plays his 352 formation..we dont have wingers..just wing backs like Ward or Wilson on the right or Sibley on the left.

Not only dont NML, CBT or Barks fit that system, but neither do Nyambe or Elder..just saying..he needs to either play 343 or go to 4 at the back..much better idea imo...

I personally feel 343 fits our sqaud the best. My only concern with it is getting over run in midfield especially if don't have some real grit and energy in the middle of the park.

  4. Wildsmith leaving is the only disappointing one. However we can and will replace him.

Hopefully Sibley and Collins sign new deals. Sibley as he bleeds black and white and Collins as I feel he will be a solid hardworking sqaud player.

Need to go out and get our number 1 GK now, a few CM's and center foward now as a priority.

Players have to be notified by tomorrow according to EFL rules, doesn’t necessarily mean the club have to make the list public by tomorrow. Not sure why but I suspect we may have it at some point this evening

Hopefully we will, as it will put a end to a lot of this speculative.

I've heard a while ago that he's turned down a contract off.

Then been told this morning he's signed for Portsmouth.

No idea if true, just what I've heard. So don't shoot the messenger.

Heard nothing else about any other player.

What would be his reasoning is to go to Pombey as it's hardly a step up. Money? Personal reasons?

So folks I’ve heard from my contact the following:

    gone

    Wildsmith

    Waghorn

    JJ

    gayle

    hourihane

    smith

forsyth - to be offered some type of coaching

    new contract offered

    Thompson

    collins

    sibley

    barks

Contract offered to 3-4  out of contract players including these I’ve had confirmed

    Burrows

    Herbie Kane

    Tyrese Campbell

I can get behind offering all four of those new contracts. The main talking point will be Wildsmith not having a new deal but I trust PW will have his reasons.

Johansson is the obvious choice now.

A bit of a controversial one, but I'd love to see Ben Osborn at Derby.

Right age and very versatile, he can play in that Left Wing Back position or Centre Mid (both areas we need to strengthen).

Wages might be a sticking point however...

Looks like he'll be released by Sheffield Utd and he's definitely Championship standards.

I know he's an ex Red Dog and I know he scored that winner against us but he's a Derby lad and that's got to count for something, right???

Not quite the right age as he will be 30 as the season starts, but would be great to cover so many positions. He is a Derby fan I believe despite his past so maybe he could fancy it.

Versatile player at the peak of his career, plenty of championship experience and a Derby lad. I can certainly get behind that if his wages are reasonable.

I seem to remember Warne saying Vickers had been unlucky at Rotherham being behind one of the best in the Championship - Johansson? - apparently he has a release clause

I do remember him saying something along these lines about Johansson being one of the best in the championship too. Just feel Wildsmith would be solid in the Championship like wise would Johansson but for a reported 900k though..

Heard from a source close to the club that Wildsmith hasn’t been offered new terms. Be interested to see how the list looks.

I am little confused why he hasn't? Surley there are other areas we need strengthening more than in goal (with the best defence in the league).

Unless PW is wanting something else in a GK for some reason? Or Wildsmith wants to move on for strange reason.

Weimann leaving Bristol City on a free, 32 years old so maybe not the age profile we want but plenty of champ experience and still close with the likes of Fozzy I believe….an option for the forward positions?
Or a case of too old, on the wane, and “never go back”..?

It would all depend on how PW wants to line up next season. I don't feel hes a natural number 9 or can play up top on his own.

He's best as a second striker or maybe a number 10 for me.
