Car crash of a performance

What a load of rubbish !!

We have no control or movement in the middle of the park for me. No one to get stuck in or get about to make things happen.
I'd drop Bird further back and look to bring on Waggy as the number 10.

Problem there is the same one as trying to find a good striker.
Every team wants one, and the teams that have got one aren't just going to give them to us for nothing.
I agree but surely thats where our focus has to be.

I’m thinking the same. We do need another striker, ideally with pace as another option, but what we’ve got currently does offer a threat at this level, there’s better depth than last season with 3 senior strikers rather than 2, plus Sibley and Barkhuizen due back to add to the attacking options. The addition of another midfielder to complement Bird, Hourihane, Sibley, Smith and Thompson would improve the squad further and perhaps help us control the midfield a bit more when needed.
Well said. I feel at times we are too slow and sluggish in the middle of the park and we lack away who can run and drive the ball fowards.
I also agree that we ideally miss someone with pace upfront as well. So we can affectively hit teams on the break.

What's the score Mason?

Lovely reception that Bennett deserves.

Ffs what a chance that was

We seem to have no midfield at all is my main take on that half. And we look dodgy as heck at the back. Collins has worked very hard, good set piece goal but he is rarely in the box and when he is there's no support. No idea where NML is most of the time.
I don't think NML is a 10 to be fair to him. At least we have Waghorn on the bench who is a natural 9/10

Burton need to control their staff down. Their manager and assistant have lost it lol

You can see how a player like their number 4 would almost transform our midfield in place of Smith. Big, mobile, athletic box to box. That Knight replacement people are calling for.

I agree that we need another foward however I feel a pacey hard working midfielder has to be the priority now. At times watching a midfield three of Bird, Hourihane and Smith is like watching walking football.
We neee an attacking midfielder with pace and drive.

I think he would score numerous goals in most league one teams who have hard working runners around him. We sadly don't however.
I feel we desperately need pace through the middle of the pitch. Smith, Hourihane and Bird don't provide that.

The most disappointing thing would be that we apparently cannot reinvest the fees received due to a pre-agreed plan.
He’s not irreplaceable. He is however irreplaceable if we can’t spend a penny of his fee.
Roll on next year when we don’t have to ask the EFL for permission before we can wipe our arse.
This is disappointing I agree, as even if we sell Bird we don't seem to be able to reinvest his fees to buy a proper replacement.

Will NML be fit for Saturday? If we do go back to either a 4231 or 433 he will be key.

I'm presuming Bird...
Maybe Cashin? Collins?
Not sure but whoever they are need to leave for the harmony of the team.

I think this team is crying out for Sibley. Someone with legs and energy to stretch the play behind the centre fowards and ahead of the deeper lying midfielders.

Brown and Collins incoming
I don't think Washington or Waghorn have much service at all to be fair.
Hopefully Collins and Brown can make an impact.

There's a few genuine laugh out loud comments on here
The rest is just jaundiced, narrow minded, blinkered drivel.
There's some folks actually revelling in the scoreline tonight as it then in their minds justifies their own biased personal narrative.
Weird.
I don't think people are revelling in the score line, people are in a state of dispear.

Three at the back?

I agree. A back 3 isn't working for me. We need to go back to a back 4.
