Cheers, I just assumed it was the norm now. This is the kind of thing Ramstrust or the supporters clubs should be taking up with the Administrators, as you say.

Exactly. Why as a long-standing season ticket holder can I simply not buy an extra ticket for a mate on my account to boost the attendance and put cash into the club. It’s madness.

For tonight’s league match at Coventry v Peterborough you can get tickets from the ground up until till 6.30 for a 7.45 kick off and Coventry still have matches where you can pay at cash turnstiles.
It really is desperate that the administrators sort out the ticketing situation ASAP……….cashflow lads, cashflow!

Does anyone know if the requirement for an account for every ticket is a legal requirement for Covid or is it merely a Derby “rule”. IMO this is costing the club hundreds if not thousands of ticket sales.

100%. His interview today was inspirational. Didn't want him as manager but he's pretty much all we've got at the moment. Completely genuine, honest and grounded. Can't think of many previous managers who wouldn't have bailed out months ago, with the probable exception of Nigel Clough.

I wanted to start this thread to formally apologise to Wayne Rooney. I have been one of those who has criticised Rooney heavily and wanted him gone before all this mess came out, mainly during the horrible winless run last season. I now hold my hands up and admit I was wrong and badly so. Over the past few months, and particularly so during the last week, I am increadibly proud to have this man as manager of DCFC, even more so after today's press conference and that the dire state of the club is now revealed to us all. I now honestly think there is no better man to lead us through these dire times brought on by the IDIOT Mel.
Once again, my apologies to Wayne, and thank you for staying on during this mess. Thanks for your honesty towards the fans. Thanks for your commitment. You made me proud to be a DCFC fan today.

If you were a Rooney "out-er" and now wish to atone for your sins, let it all out!

    COYR!

Honestly it's something I've noticed as well. I don't know if this just applies to us a club but as a fanbase we seem to really rally the most when things are dire.

Seeing as this has turned into a Rooney love-in, as a female (love Friday Night Dinner) on here would like to express my huge thanks to Coleen Rooney, the couple's sons and wider family who must be supporting Wayne supporting what seems like the entire city of Derby and fans beyond. As a mum of just 2 boys I know how manic it was when my husband went away with work when they were younger and I cant imagine this is what they expected as a family when they came back from the States. Perhaps a slow wind- down from Wayne's playing career to a bit if coaching. This situation must be consuming them. Before anyone says it I know the wolf isnt exactly at the door, but that makes no difference they are a family like any other who cant be seeing their husband and dad very much this season. So thank you clan Rooney - I think our position would be so much worse if he wasnt here.

I suspect you’ll find most, if not all, professional footballers have an innate desire to win every game they play in regardless of pointless it may seem. Also, from a personal perspective, I would imagine they will want to impress in order to enhance their chances of a more favourable transfer.

I disagree. This season is far from done. The outcome inevitably will be relegation but it allows us @ 10 months to prepare for next season. We can offload players we don’t want or can’t afford. Blood players who will be needed next year and scout players who will be great in league one. We can build momentum and togetherness amongst fans and staff alike and hit league one with all guns blazing!!! This is probably the most important period in our recent history, far, far from done

No point appealing. It costs money (that we dont have) and it'll simply get laughed at.
I'd rather pay the wages of back office staff than piss money away on a frivolous appeal that's 99.999% certain to fail.

"Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Rooney said he finds it disrespectful that Morris hasn't got in contact with him to explain Derby's situation.
He claims he has tried to phone him, but no one has answered. He added he rang Morris from the team doctor's phone, to which he picked up." WTF?

Just listened to the interview - thanks @RoyMac5 for the link.
Have to say it got me a bit emotional which surprised me. Rooney's comments, attitude, support, empathy and God knows how many other superlatives was nothing short of outstanding.
100% cleared up questions around communication with Mel confirming Mel's ignored him since early August - utterly shameful behaviour. 100% cleared up questions about Mel's total lack of care, simply repeating his cold, insincere radio speech to staff and players whose livelihoods he's put at real risk  100% cleared up the questions of whether he's personally funded some things - he has, so the players and staff have what they need to progress. 100% cleared up questions around what he thought of Mel - and as direct as he still was, he was clearly being diplomatic. 100% cleared up his commitment to this club, the players, the staff and us fans.  We've had other threads opining views on Rooney but in my honest opinion, this bloke is already a legend just for sticking by us and for doing what he's done with the team despite everything going on.  He seriously could afford to walk away, but for the council estate lad who fought for everything he has, he simply won't unlike our esteemed previous owner.  Credit too the players who could so easily capitulate.  And credit tot to LR & Co who resolutely stand by Rooney.
What I do get out of this, and the Administrator's press conference, is that there is a huge belief in this club, regardless of whether we remain in the Championship, or, more likely L1 and that mid to long term we will come again better, fitter and stronger.
I have honestly been doom and gloom this past few days, but today, there's a ray of light for me, that those in the wings might, just might genuinely want to see us good, and not simply cash in and see us fade ingloriously away.

Gotta hold my hands up and say Rooney has really gone up in my estimation.  At the end of last season I wanted a change in manager but fair play to him, not only had he playing better football & getting results but the way he's conducted things in the last week has shown he genuinely cares about the club and it's staff.
