For giving away two needless penalties in 2 games...
He's redeemed himself and we remain in 2nd place..
    Great to have him back

I think there are better ways to make the fans believe their voices are heard.

On a related point, it’d be interesting if DC were to devise a scheme for transfer of 49% of the club to supporters who want to invest. Would be complicated but now’s the time to do it (rather than when the club is in crisis)

Drawing pretty pictures on an overhead projector is one thing. It’s quite another to ask players frequently to adjust to different roles in different systems whilst there are players coming on and off, the oppo is throwing everything at you and you’re  knackered. We’re good enough to win most of the time in this hapless div by playing the system that most suits us and one the players are accustomed to

I thought it was tactical to have as few shots on target as is reasonably possible in a first half then let the opponents have the ball for half an hour then go kick and rush right at the end of games or so the 7 year old said recently near me at the games.

Was surprised to hear Warne say in his post match interview that it wasn’t a tactical game in any sense. I thought all games had a tactical element

He’s our best keeper when at his best.  but his head is in completely the wrong place.  He clearly won’t be with us much longer

We have the second-best defence in the league, going by goals conceded, and Wildsmith has played in 29/36 league games. He's a very good L1 goalkeeper, and he doesn't have to make world-class saves for that to be true. If he was a great goalie, he'd be in the Prem.

Not that I know anything, but it looks to me like Warne wanted to get Vickers in at sooner or later and/or there's a contractual disagreement between Wildsmith and the club. In the same way Warne has foisted Bradley into the team, it feels like he wanted to make Vickers #1. Either way, JW's unsettled. He's gone from a reliable 7/10 keeper to making silly decisions, but outside of his 2 stupid penalties gaffs, he hasn't done too much wrong.

I saw JW on Ben Foster's podcast and he came across as very switched on, seemed to take his career & training seriously. I can't help thinking he's being pushed out and it's affecting his game. It's a stupid mistake, even putting everything else to one side, as he's a saleable asset who will probably be allowed to leave for nothing.

This has happened far too many times for the blame not to go to the very top. It’s possible to avoid so many individual mistakes by setting up a system properly to control a football match.

Was gutted Hourihane waltzed back into the team for this reason. Speaking to the resident Barnsley fan at work this morning and he confirmed what he had heard off of multiple Derby fans this season in that he can't move anymore.

In assessing the manager there is one question and only one: is he getting the players at his disposal performing to their potential ?
A different question is: if he doesn’t, will the chairman sack him ?

I don’t think he gets the best out of this team. And I don’t think he’ll be sacked any time soon

I think it’s a bit weird that he’s still around.

Word has it he was remorseful when Q was appointed, feeling he should have ‘stood up’ to MM (as his duties required). He then worked his balls off to help Q and this - as well has his expertise - would have been readily apparent to DC as the sale negotiations were ongoing. I’d also assume he was not going to be employed by any other club on the planet after the debacle, so the detailed terms of his ongoing role would have been largely dictated by DC and his team. Perhaps the initial intention was to keep him short term, and it then seemed to make sense for him to stay…?

But given the intent to ‘reset’ the culture and business of the club, and for that to be seen to be the case … yeah it’s pretty weird he’s still around.

Hmm. Under SM1, we had exciting, attacking football but we were found out and teams worked out how to nullify us. We didn’t change, just carried on and started losing and drawing more. We need to change tactics according to the opposition.
