If he looks at the tapes from last season around December, January,  I think he might fancy Knight and Tommo as part of the midfield. And from this season, Dobbin’s ability to press could catch his eye. Wouldn’t be surprised to see more of Stearman and Fozzie

I think McGoldrick is the best player in our club. He will get in the first choice 11 surely

I’ve had Covid 3 times. First time September 2020 was really bad as no Vaccine.  Since then I’ve had it twice but not as bad.  4 Covid jabs so far and just had Flu jab .
2 times positive with proper tests and last time positive with lots of lateral flow tests

Find this really encouraging given how well Barker knows him. Barker picks his words very carefully but always says what he thinks .  Wonder if Warne spoke to him before jumping

I think the budgets under our business plan are a % of our total income or revenue, so that'll increase a fair bit if we were promoted this season with more TV money, bigger crowds, better sponsorship opportunities etc.
At a guess I'd say even under the business plan we have one of the biggest budgets in League 1. We'd probably be somewhere in the upper bottom half of the league if we were in the Championship on the same plan.

Well I would personal welcome you to derby but you will need to improve attacking style of play but if I was you and try get us back into play off places but tommrow not playing gives you chance to work on a few things one thing that needs improving are our free kicks and corner kicks but please keep lang as one of attacking players or even maybe look at him at free kicks he has great shots on him.

I mean yeah. If we could have, which I don’t think we could financially, would’ve sacked him after the covid season. He was shocking.

The break will help with transition.

And maybe some of the senior players saw LR’s inexperience and will encourage the dressing room  to welcome someone who knows the division well and has done it.

First to slag him off? Rubbish. He’s not even put a framed photo of his wife and his dog on his desk and other people are writing him off.
I would describe his appointment as potentially shrewd and a potential answer to the obvious need for an experienced manager who knows the league. I am getting Billy Davies vibes.
I am interested to see what happens and I think we have to assess the situation at the end of the season.
If we are a long way off the play offs, of course Warne will come in for criticism and rightly so.

A number of pretty good sources have told us that LR was the strategic power behind the Rooney throne last season   ie it was LR’s style of play.
And what we’ve seen on the pitch this season supports that

'Found out at championship level.' He was Rotherham manager, look at what he was working with. A manager is only as good as his players. He got the best out of what he had at Rotherham and I expect him to do so here, doesn't necessarily mean we will be playing 'rowettball'

    Or on the contrary.
Making the change now gives PW time to get all of the players on side well before the next transfer window. I fear that without making the change, three of the youngsters that I still feel we should be building a team around for the long term, Bird, Knight and Sibley, would have been looking to move. PW might get the best out of them.
If this change happened nearer the transfer window, PW might not have had time to implement his plans and win players over.
I'm looking forward to playing a more aggressive attacking style of play than we have seen for the past 3 years.

The centre of a back 3 is usually the one that needs to do the least running. Someone that can command the line and use experience to make blocks and head away long balls and crosses. Cashin has the energy to be more mobile on that left side (Roberts and Fozzy also fit this position. I'm more concerned about Chester's fitness, but hopefully he can get up to speed quickly and do a job. Stearman and Rooney as cover on the right side.
If he sets up 3-1-4-2 like he has with Rov'rum recently then I'd like to see one of Smith or Bird as the solo CDM (Smith when physicality is needed, Bird if we want someone to play the QB role) then pair Knight with Hourihane/Sibley further ahead.
I still think our squad is more suited to a 3-4-2-1 with Sibley and McGoldrick behind Collins for the attack. I'm excited to see what this new chapter will be like.

Really? He's in a strong bargaining position and coming from a team in the Championship to a team a league below, who have huge aspirations their chequebook can't currently cover and a history of firing people and not always seeming to honour contracts (from the outside anyway). Not surprised he wanted to be convinced he couldn't quickly and cheaply replaced.
