Thank you Rojo Everyone should have a second team
our club’s PR team have overexposed him since he joined which was not the best idea (the break did not help) so we’re looking forward to seeing him on the touchline
He talks a lot about energy, ‘gas on’ and runners. It’ll be very interesting to see how he applies that to a squad where half of the best players are a long way from being spring chickens

I just want to say how lucky you are to have Paul Warne as manager. I've supported the millers for 69 years. Obviously, I've seen managers come and go during that period. As far as I'm concerned, and many other fans Warne is the best manager we've had.
Like Derby fans we went through some dark times. Administration points deducted, lost our ground, forced to play in Sheffield in an athletic stadium. No atmosphere, 4 years in the 4th division.
Paul has many qualities. Excellent staff management, a workaholic. He's articulate, honest and will live and breathe Derby County.
I thank him for all the memories, 3 Wembley wins 3 promotions and I wish him well and as a consequence wish the Rams well. I've never had a second team, but for the first time Derby County will be my second team. I look forward to seeing Paul succeed.
Hopefully Derby will be promoted and we survive in the championship and look forward to see you at the New York stadium.
All the best.

Well, I am not shaving my head.
I am not wearing sliders and a tracksuit.
I am not starting a bobble hat collection.
I am not drinking black coffee.
But I might organise the chairs in my classroom in a 3-1-4-2 formation and start a ‘why’ wall.

Mmmmh. I do hope the footballers do deliver for him, because already I am beginning to think shut up man.

Assembling (and motivation) was what Rooney was good at. But he had some gaps in other areas which led to him underachieving with those players he had deftly assembled

48 hours from now, I am confident we’ll be celebrating our first away win of the season.
And to be honest, that’s all that matters. We want to win. I think winning football can be played in many ways. In our position, we can’t afford to be so stubborn. We should embrace change.
Personally I can totally understand the excitement from the club and from local media. We have a proven manager with tangible achievements at this level. What is there not to be excited about?
Warne knows what works at this level and how to win football matches at this level. If he has to make us tougher, meaner, more physical, more athletic, more direct, more difficult to play against, so be it.
Personally I couldn’t care less for style points. I want to win the actual points.

A couple of posters declared he had no future in management and should stick to TV. Our friend Tyler was also suggesting that his reputation was lower than when he interviewed for the Blackpool job. I was disagreeing with both of those sets of comments. CBA to find the quotes as I have a hangover...

From what we saw of him here ME seemed to have a good all round game and loads of potential . Festy was the more limited player (albeit a force of nature when he got the wind in his sails)

Yes that’s one way of looking at it. Or you can stand back and ask yourself: is this group of players looking as good as they should? Or: with this group of players, should we be losing to that lot? Or: how come the oppo makes more effective changes and subs than we do ?
The xG and other stats only take you so far

For what its worth, I have seen CEOs and CFOs in big corporates act in very authoritarion ways, usually one or the other calls the shots and the remainder of the Exec Directors fall into line. Those that stand out are soon replaced, to be fair, ever seen a Board appointment move on within 12 months of appointment? It happens!
Regarding Pearce, Im sure he's had a lot of sleepless nights wrestling with his conscious, but, like most of us he has a mortgage to pay.
He may also of weighed up, that he was better sticking around to explain his side of the story to a new owner, rather than disappearing a short time before the Administration announcement, no doubt also gagged with an NDA. Wouldn't be a great entry on his CV, surving admin and returning the club to the Championship or even better still the Premier League though would be!
As someone who wanted him gone, I think he deserves a second chance if DC is prepared to give him one, after all he knows where all the dead bodies are buried!

Thats a big statement to make with no apparent evidence.
Its obvious Mel was calling the shots and Pearce had 2 options. Leave a lucrative well paid job, or keep stum. Morris may have convinced him like he did us, that he would continue to fund the club.
All fair points, but, a man scared of losing his livelyhood may be tempted to keep quiet, I'm pretty sure he will have been tied to an NDA too...
The stadium sale was the way of staying within FFP, other clubs have done this too.
100% agree, the actions of a reckless gambler.....
Im sure he advised against, but was told to shut up.
He may of alerted Mel to somthing for all we kniw, yet again, it could of all been Mels bullshite, as SR took him to the ckeaners...
