These administrators are that good I think they'll get the 12 points back, the EFL will scrap the 9 points for FFP and give us an extra 6 points because they haven't a clue what they're doing.
We could quite easily be in the play offs by mid January.

As to why the Efl are picking on Derby , the simple answer is they aren’t.

they made a similar mess of Bury .. the best that can be said about that is that it was a swift end for Bury rather than a death by a thousand cuts .

whatever your views on Mel Morris , ( which I don’t share by the way) the first objection is why should the club suffer for the wrongdoing of the owner? Precisely the issue that As you say true football fans would understand regardless of who they support… which is why Derby fans sympathised with you over oyston.

but despite my first statement I think Derby fans feel aggrieved that the club are wrongly accused of things that were perfectly fine ( eg stadium sale) , things like amortisation are minor things at worst that Efl wanted points deduction .. and relegation .., for yet the independent panel thought only a fine was appropriate .

so at every turn Efl seem to want to beat us up and max out on punishments.

all for what? A professional disagreement between accountants over amortisation policy, and a disagreement between another set of accountants over what has caused our latest financial problems? Is it COVID or our historic overspending?

why should the club , and the fans be punished for any of this?

This isn’t the first time that EFL expresses  its “disappointment”. .. why should a football body be disappointed in the outcome of an independent process .. why doesn’t the EFL itself show itself to be independent?

That is why it is in its dying days as a regulator . After the BUry debacle , Parliament heavily criticised EFL for its practices. It just seems the EFL represents the interests of rival clubs who all join in and give other clubs a kicking. Especially unattractive when you are kicking a club when it is down. It’s not independent at all, and is just self destructive.
I cannot recall anything wrong in Derby ‘s own media statements .. except them saying the amortisation thing was no big deal well plainly it is if it means we fail FFP and get penalty points deductions.

I am very pleased that we are appealing this - we have suffered a £20 million loss directly and factually from ticket sales due to covid from loss of sales of tickets - we were never in danger of administration prior to that - the EFL have stopped us from spending money because they know we simply didn’t have it coming in and they were constantly looking for guarantees of who is going to pay our bills before Administration. Our losses are provable due to Covid and what other clubs do is of no relevance to our appeal.
if the administrators believe we should appeal then they clearly believe we have a case and they are the money men!
if the the EFL believe no one should ever win an appeal against administration then why have one available ?

It's nothing to do with "class" it's about being treated fairly by a truly independant arbiter.

Not entirely sure you can blame the government for all of this problem. Surely, in terms of supply and delivery, nothing has changed since this time last week when there weren’t any (immediate) problems. It’s all down to the media fuelling (no pun intended) panic buying.
Where abouts in the WM are you? After a manic Friday, things seem a lot calmer over here. With two trips to Derby coming up (as well as going to Manchester last Saturday and off to Leicester later in the week), I probably need to top up but I’d be surprised if I have any problems Tuesday or Wednesday (could probably go today if I wanted but, I’ll wait a bit).

    I’m not even criticising Rooney.
I’m defending Cocu when people say Rooney has had it much harder, or any other criticism that has gone his way.
The comments re Rooney are simply because people are comparing them both.
I’ll stick up for Cocu all day long as I genuinely liked the guy. Yeah, the football at times wasn’t great, but he’s the only manager we’ve had since Nigel Clough that has put Derby first before personal ambition.

The model for Championship football is "you'll get tons of money if you make it to the premier league" which is obviously not a healthy one. The only alternative model is "accept you are a lower league club, and have lower league players or sell to fund" - there's not a model for competetive and sustainable. Even the much lauded Bretford were on a sell to fund model, they made it work, but you can't run a whole system on the basis of everyone selling to everyone else, Brentofrd only made it work by selling to clubs chancing on the premier league dream, if every other club was trying to pull the same as Brentford, the market wouldnt be what it was for Brentofrd.
The economics of football are hopeless, the championship is a good example of how broken they are, and DCFC are an example of what happens if you fail. Take all the moral hand wringing out of it (for i do believe a lot of it is partizan and somewhat flexible), Derby's main crime was to fail. If we'd succeeded apart from a few grumbles, we'd have been welcomed to the Prem and talk would only be of the team that did it.

I know we've done this before but its sort of compulsory when it pops up again!
First game 1970 v Everton who were Champions at the time. Walking up to the ground as a 10 year old with the crowds, the smell of cigarette smoke, walking past pubs with that old stale beer smell wafting through the doors, being scared when grown men are shouting and threatening each other across the street, coppers keeping order with clips round the ear.
Get into the ground, feel the buzz, the sheer excitement and electricity of thousands packed in like sardines, swaying and singing, being lifted up by complete strangers and passed down to the front to sit legs crossed at the side of the pitch.....
I remember playing Leicester at home after Clough and Taylor had been sacked/resigned in 1973, it was the first game i went to with mates rather than with an adult. I was on the Popside, i thought i was a proper grown up, its hard to explain, but  i was a skinny little lad who took confidence from being old enough to get the train into Derby, walk up to the ground and be part of the masses singing their hearts out every game. I turned from a timid lad to "one of the boys" at a school that was mainly Stoke fans. Never did get bullied or picked on after that point and have always worn my Rams colours/badges etc since. Still do now.
!974-75 season was unbelieveable, we took on every club with total football. Colin Boulton in goal (got to be the best ever English keeper not to get a cap), Toddy, Nish, Thomas and Peter Daniel (standing in for the injured Roy Mac) at the back, Bruce Rioch, Henry Newton and Archie Gemmill in midfield, Gladys, Zak, Big Rog and Frannie Lee smashing the goals in......went every game, home and away. The Vulcan Street Popside was the place to be back then. Away fans would try and "take" it,  never happened....Tottenham, West Ham, Man City, Arsenal.....all got a good kicking a few seconds after the initial gap opened up on an already packed terrace.....fair play to them, can't remember any other fans trying to take the Popside, How those gaps opened up is amazing but once the bloke with the cap (from Ilson), or the big Dutch lad, Johann, piled in, it was all over for the away lads who thought little Derby were an easy touch. This was 7 or 8 years before the DLF were even heard of.
We are the Derby, the Midlands we rule....

I don't really get your argument. It feels like you decided to just change your mind with no reason and can't understand why everyone else hasn't.
We have played two games against teams we needed to do well against and have 1 point to show for it. The performances look pretty similar to last season's shocking run and we have a tough run coming up soon. We have a totally inexperienced manager at a time when we need someone who can use their experience to squeeze every ounce out of incredibly limited resources...and we have an ex-England manager with decades of experience mooching about drinking tea. Seems wrong to me.

Rooney & Rosenior need to go. Unfortunately Mel doesn't seem to want to pay to get rid of them, and they seem too stubborn to resign.
It annoyed me during the pre game interview with Rooney saying he knows all the fans are right behind him. Well if he actually read these forums or bothered to look into it, he would find that the majority actually want him gone!

If we stick by him and by some miracle he turns out to have some managerial ability what do you think will happen then. He'll do a Lampard on us and duck off to a bigger club. It's lose, lose. He's chit we sack him, he's great he ducks off. I don't believe he feels he owes us anything and I don't trust him (I'm still suspicious about the timing of the watch ....  delivery).
