Surely if nobody could come up with the funds 6 months ago they aren’t going to be able too now?

Is it just me or do other people find it odd that since CK withdrew his bid we’ve not heard a peep from him.

I would’ve thought he’d address what went wrong and apologise for not being able to take us on.

Do we think a reason for the silence is that he hasn’t completely gone?

Definitely this. Always seems to get praise from all the football media but as you say has little to admire in the trophy cabinet.

I have a feeling Kirchner has damaged our takeover hopes more than we know. If he had no intention of completing a deal, there is every chance he has agreed to a deal which is far higher in cost than most, or any, interested party are willing to meet. If that is the case it means a lengthy process. Bloody hope I'm wrong on that front.
I'm resigned to the fact that we are in a very similar position to what Bolton were in a few years back.
Rooney will be gone, we will have kids, who will either sink or swim, over time we will add and build.
Anything better than that I will be happy.

Allsop is one I thought we could convince to stay, longer this goes on though you can't blame players for taking alternative offers to secure their future.

You know. Maybe ist just a preference thing. But I don’t quite understand all the  Nixon slagging.

The bloke is cryptic at times. But, to me, that just implies he’s being honest. Most stories/situations are actually boring and process driven, as opposed to fanciful and conspiracy laden.

Take the CK situation; there really was nothing to suggest he wasn’t going to get the deal done. All contracts were signed and agreed. He even sent the money. All of this can actually be tracked by the parties involved. Then he pulled his offer. So up until he pulled the offer, everybody involved seemed to agree it was all going well (if not a bit lengthy).

I’m sure some details will come out about why it has gone done the way it has. And I’d be surprised if those details aren’t just boring process related issues. But that’s beside the point.

Nixon can be a wee bit rash and frustrating at times. But he always seems pretty level on reporting matters. Or like I said, maybe it’s just a preference thing ?‍♂️

Totally agree, just pay the money, assemble a good squad and back the lads to get us back to the championship. Its not like the people looking at buying us only have £30m wealth and nothing else. They're worth 100's of millions. Either you're serious about buying us and saving the club or you're not.

Whilst its now looking that you're right. People have been told by CK and others in the media that he was the saviour and that everything was gonna be rosey, can't blame people for being open to that idea.
Its a bit of a shock to the system now to have the axe centimetres away from our heads.

Fans, media, analysts have to assign some blame on the EFL - remember, they bounced CK (and possibly other bids?) 6 months ago - before Christmas - when they folded their arms, smiled and told Q they could not name a PB because of the parasite claims.
Yes there was the stadium issue but bidders could not move to action if they could not quantify the parasite claims or learn a definite creditor status of those claims.
That served to defer progress for Q & suitors on all other requirements, had they met Q's bid thresholds. It also served EFL's hidden agenda of appeasement to parasites and others to make Q & Rooney look foolish when declaring they hope for January squad reinforcements - because 'assured relegation' had to play out.
So not only did Derby fail to sign or retain wanted players, they had to shed 14 more in order to cobble together the cashflow to get to May.
Q & EFL also failed to know, learn or pursue the alleged CK money routes in train to ensure deal completion and financial salvation - for 2 months! Diabolical lack of duty, given the approval of CK in the fit & proper tests.

-15 points kills the season for me. We desperately need a rebuild at all playing levels and even if saved would be subject to significant restrictions based on business plan and P&L. A points deduction makes another relegation a very real threat.
I'm utterly sick of this club getting a kicking. Another points deduction would IMHO be a hammer blow for morale for players and fans alike.

i think the most depressing thing about this whole process is the lack of progress we have seen from day one.
we are in exactly the same position we were when we went into admin apart from the club has got more expensive to buy.

I said previously that this season could go from the very depressing to the very best and everything in between. Unless one of the bidders pulls their finger out in the next 2 weeks I'd say we'll have to settle for depressing end of the spectrum.
Rooney could easily go, we're not going to have a competent squad and more than likely we'll have -15 to contend with. Then it'll all be about the League 2 campaign the season afterwards. Its better than liquidation but it a sobering thought especially when you look back at the many play off campaigns.

    Full version to Hotel California

    On a dark Derby motorway
    Cool wind in my hair
    Warm smell of liquidation
    Rising up through the air
    Up ahead in the distance
    I saw Pride Park lights
My heart grew heavy and my patience wore thin
I had to stop for the night
There Quantuma stood in the doorway
    I heard the missing Mel
And I was thinking to myself
This could be Heaven or this could be Hell
Then they lit up a candle
And Mel showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor
I thought I heard them say

    Welcome to the Derby Administration
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)
    Such a fall from grace
Plenty of room at the Derby administration
Any time of year (any time of year)
    All them oh so nears

    Mel’s mind is definitely twisted
    He’s got the Mercedes Benz
He got a lot of wealthy, wealthy boys
    He calls friends
How they dance at the Moor farm
    Sweet administrative debt
    Some dance to remember
    Some dance to forget

So I called up the Captain
    Please give me a sign
He said, 'We haven't had that spirit here"
    "Since 1969"
And still those voices are calling from far away
Wake you up in the middle of the night
    Just to hear them say

    Welcome to the Derby administration
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)
    Such a fall from grace
They livin' it up at the Derby administration
What a bad surprise (what a bad surprise)
    Bring their alibis

    Kirchner on the dealing
    The yank champagne on ice
And he said, 'We are all just swindlers here"
    "Of our own device"
    And in the Quantumas chambers
    They gathered for the cash
They count it with their beady eyes
But they just may have been a tad rash

Last thing they remember, he was
    Running for the door
Q had to find the passage back
To the place we were before
    "Relax,” said the sly man
    "We are programmed to deceive"
"You can buy-out any time you like"
    "But we’ll never leave!"
