Rotherham win would’ve been a killer so this result sits nicely for now. Still requires us to actually not be completely poo though.

It’s as much in our hands as it is for everyone else. Wycombe and Wednesday are all but down but if we beat Blackburn even they will start to get a sweat on.
50 points is always touted as the safety mark and I think that’ll be the case this season with maybe 49 just about doing the job. This said if we can’t muster 6 points from our last 5 matches we deserve to go down.
A draw would be ideal tonight but at this stage I think it’s what we do on the pitch more than what others do which will determine our fate.

Trust the one team we definitely didn’t need to win winning.

Think we need at least 3 points from the next 2 matches. Then at the very least get 3 points out of the last 3 matches. Is 49 points enough for survival? Maybe just 🤞

We could rename it as Derby's answer to the Nou Camp
The Boo Camp

Rooney should be in place until the summer. At which point we need to review his position, the coaching staff and how the club has operated the last 5 seasons or so.
What we see now is the result of bad decisions seasons ago, compounded by this recent chase for the celebrity, if only to increase our potential saleability.
Rooney is part of that problem. This season was always going to be tough, we have had further bad luck with injury and some senior players having very poor seasons.
We have been as poor in some games under Rooney as we have for a long long time and that is with a better squad than we had to start the season with. His points record is massively skewed by the Bielik run.
I would have sympathy for him, but he showed a lack of professionalism as a player to this club and to his manager.
I don't doubt he could be a good manager in the future, but we treat him like he is bigger than the club as a manager. Done nothing to earn that yet.

TomTom92 got a reaction from Dean (hick) Saunders in v Luton (h) Matchday Thread
Think it probably sums up how most fans are feeling at the moment. Its been a depressing year in general but when you add what we've had to watch for the last year and the off field antics its become very exhausting. I was genuinely at peace last Saturday because I knew I wouldn't have to put up with watching/listening to Derby play.
Good win today it would seem and results have gone our way which means we can relax until monday... That said I'm not sure stumbling over the line to stay up should be applauded. The sooner the season can end and we can watch England in the euros the better.

Massive win today.
Two weeks ago, we probably find a way to lose that game, so you have to imagine the international break came at the right time for us.
7 points from 7 games needed. Safety is in sight, but I do think this is just a temporary reprieve for us. Next season looks like it will be just as tough.

Signing Waghorn for the money we did was scandalous. Not been a bad servant but he hasn’t repaid his fee in the slightest. Same goes for a lot of players.
The money we’ve squandered is tragic. At least under Nigel if a player turned out to be poo it was because we’d signed them for a bag of potato’s and a wink.

Since 2015, here is how I would categorise our signings:
Great signings: Vydra, Ince, H. Wilson, Mount, Tomori, Bogle
Good signings: Johnson, Clarke, Lawrence, Wisdom, Carson
Good signings on the pitch and in the dressing room: Davies, CKR
Potentially good signings: Byrne, Marshall, Bielik and Jozwiak
Poor or forgettable signings: The rest

TomTom92 got a reaction from Asanovic70 in Rooney, manager, mid-term report
Unfair to pass judgement at this moment in time. Come the end of the season we’ll know what Wayne’s about.
He’s given us a shot at survival which I’m grateful for. However having done the hard work we’ve taken the foot off the gas and are well in truly back in the fight for survival. Whether we like it or not it’s going to go down to the last 3 if not last match of the season.
He’s not been backed financially and the squad is poor so not sure we can expect too much. Fingers crossed for survival and new investment.
However I do note that it’s a shame Sheffield United hung on to Wilder for so long.
C+

The most annoying thing is that we don't make teams work hard to beat us, yet we have to look like we are pushing a boulder up a hill to get a result.
