Sat here in bits again. My dad is really really ill and his bad days seem to coincide with bad news Derby days. He is Derby through and through and I'm not sure he understands or is aware of the off the field stuff now but I know later watching those goals on Quest with him how he will light up as little else makes him do now. That is why we have to save our club. It is not about amortisation, stadium sales, law suits, points deductions, etc. it is about watching those goals with my dementia-ridden dad and seeing his happiness for a few minutes later knowing we're off the bottom. The wonder of dementia is he will have forgotten tomorrow so we can do it all again several times. So duck the EFL, Morris, Gibson and the nobody chancer from Wycombe. We are better people than all of you and how dare you threaten the existence of our Derby family.

Eddie i was gutted at the time, but what a decision in the end, more shocked when they accepted Clough/Taylor resignations, and the fans spend 3 years tryinging to have them reinstated, players about to take strike action when Mackay the turncoat took the managers job, and in the end Forest benefited from Derby's board stupid decision, how many titles and European cups could we have won, but what days we had.

BOB BIGGS reacted to Day in Mel, did he really eat my hamster?
When Mel went public with his intentions to sell, I made a suggestion, write an autobiography when this is all over, and I hope he does once the dust settles.
What happened, what was the tipping point that saw him pull the plug, how did we manage to rack up this huge debt to HMRC when Fawaz down the A52 was facing winding up orders every couple of months.
Whilst ultimately his decision cost jobs, left behind a lot of debt to local businesses, which I am a creditor myself, leaving the existence of this club in jeopardy, I can’t sit here today and lay all the blame at his door, of course he must accept his part in this, not suggesting for a second he completely blameless.
Being a long time supporter of Mel, I have largely avoided discussions around him as there are still questions that I feel need answering, more clarity of what went on, closure. It would be easy to sit here and call him all the names under the sun, but I feel like I owe him the opportunity to explain, I hope he does find a way as his final Radio Derby interview didn’t really explain anything we didn’t already know, no gaps in the timeline were filled, and it’s those gaps which have left so many questions.
Do not think I am here to defend Mel, only Mel can defend himself, I have no intention of getting into drawn out debates as it will only cause more anger and frustration when right now we should be focussing on the future of this club.
You can drag up posts from the past that I and others made, but they were made with the information that we had at the time, others that raised concerns, had their doubts whilst hurt may feel smug with “I told you so”, which is their choice. I have made my enemies just from running this platform, sure there’s a few out there finger pointing.
However Mel came in, spent money, created excitement and dared us to dream which is exactly what football fans want, we had no idea it was ever to be a poo or literally bust, we were led to believe that we were on the line, pushing it at times which many clubs do, but that line was dragged out of reach when the EFL decided to review our accounts over previous seasons, accounts which they signed off.
I still to this day believe that EFL, Boro and Wycombe must also take some responsibility in all this. I also don’t think we can just ignore the impact that Covid has had, both financially and personally. Mel did not have a crystal ball, for all this to come at a time when trying to sell the club placed a fuckload of barriers in the way.
Whilst you can argue you shouldn’t live life on the edge, be prepared for the worst, I have been around 40 years and this is the first global pandemic which has changed life as we know it and seen sporting events played behind closed doors. Over the next 12 months I’m sure we will see others start to show the impact that alone has had without the EFL on their backs.
His own health issues which remain private and may not have played no part in his decision, but many things happen in life that can make you question your own mortality, did his, was his primary concern his family where the outside abuse questioned his financial support? I honestly don’t know and not trying to manufacture excuses here, losing close friends, illness, it can and does make you question where you are yourself in life.
I don’t know if we will ever see a book, if some already feel they have closure and wouldn’t be interested or believe a word he says, I for one believe it would give closure those that supported him during his tenure and feel hurt with how the club has been left, all the memories which should have been left have now been tarnished, including the one at Elland Road.
Life does go on though, I'm not going to spend another day questioning why as another mental drain that I have no desire to entertain.

Absolutely right. I doubt the ECB care that much either. They like their 100 white ball game, TV rights, a bit of free family involvement to justify it all. They’ll probably lose a fortune on that in time.
Cricket in this country, like many sports, is being run by the wrong type of people for the wrong reasons.

Seems that some folk have forgotten about the embargo restrictions that we've been operating under : squad size, wage size contract length, fees allowed (none), loan deals no longer than 1/2 season when most clubs (and the players themselves) want their kids to have a full year out and most don't want them to go to relegation certainties - and it comes across like they're just doubling down on their opinion of Rooney. It feels quite disingenuous.

I hope that whoever is announced Rush is not part of the equation.
He is tied in heavily with an agency and I simply do not trust him to be able to separate his work there with his involvement in running a football club.
He will look after himself and the players first. Regardless of how poorly he may have been treated by Mel, I don't trust him.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no Wazza acolyte, but I agree with every word of this. I'd also venture that since there's no likelihood of a new manager coming in, unless of course he decides to walk, that some on here really need to park the relentless sniping and just get behind him and the players. Deriding him for not bringing in Everton and Manure starlets is some of the most one-eyed nonsense I've read on this forum.
Let's assess his ability to sign players based on his rep when the EFL actually allow us to eh, because last time I checked, there were none of the United's top young talents on the free agents list. Nor will there ever be.

Can't say I'm gutted it didn't work out with Kirchner, wary of someone so keen to be in the spotlight and figured there was a tactical reason for drumming up public support. Looks like he maybe didn't have the cash some of these others do and with such a glaringly attention seeking/inexperienced figurehead it would have felt like Groundhog Day until he proved the doubters wrong.
Anyone looking to take over now will do well to keep their mouth shut and stick to the background, I know I've had enough PR stunts for a lifetime. Quite enjoyed the fan forums at the time but they make me feel queasy now. So much ******** for an optimistic/naive fan can lap up.
Christmas is well and truly over, no more ducking messiah's thanks.
No doubt Kirchner's spot on about Mel though, even if it was unprofessional to say that. Grateful to have his party interested (any party for that matter) but fingers crossed the administrators know what they're doing.
If it is Sam Rush and friends, as some are suggesting, I'm very interested to see if we ever get his side of the story with Mel. My gut instinct Rush's probably not the villain I thought he was but just as complicit in some of the reckless overspending. The hideous clause in George Thorne's contract and a whole load of other poo was all on his watch.
He still has that dead, glassy eyed smile too which is as big of a red flag as going after Forest fans on twitter. I wouldn't trust Sam Rush to help me get the shopping in when he's doing that "smile", let alone run the club.

Nope. They appointed Paul Jewell who proceeded to bring in journeymen on ridiculous wages in a move that set us back 3 or 4 years, a mess that was cleared up by NC.
Interested to know your source on Rooneys wages.

Yes, i remember that boring defensive 0-5 win at Yeovil.
But you’re right, maybe the owners realised then the team had it in them but so some reason were being shackled.  Then we lost to Forest and nearly got to the Prem.

Anyone who thinks you'd get full and honest answers from the Administrators in a live Facebook meeting is risibly deluded. They have no idea of how sensitive some of the negotiations are. The sense of entitlement I'm getting from some fans is staggering. The Administrators have no duty to engage with the fans whatsoever, other than in their position as minor individual unsecured creditors. We can argue about which supporters groups are valid or appropriate, but provided they're all being treated equally, I have no issue with how this is being done.

Ah yes those singing Sharp songs etc would add a lot to proceedings. And only a few are putting pressure/stress on those invited. I appreciate the time those invited voluntarily give to the groups they represent to get credible info amongst all the social media garbage swirling around.  As many have posted over the last couple of days this is a complicated and probably finely balanced commercial deal, not a reality show. Dont get why people feel they would get detailed updates on a confidential process. Any transactions we are involved in at work are so careful and secretive and they are nothing compared to this.
