So how much of a transfer budget do we have?

Surely we are close to 3m if not more?

If we get 1.75m for Knight + 750k for Bielik which are the low end of reported figures plus the budget we had originally which was meant to be decent for this level then lets say that was 500k, we are then at 3m.

Surely enough to sign Ladapo, JCH or Nombe. Maybe even both Nombe & Brannagan.

You'll be disappointed if you're expecting us to spend anything like that.

I really struggle to understand the point of these warm weather training trips although there must be a benefit to them as most, if not all, teams seem to arrange them. If they just want the team to be away from home and together in a hotel in order to facilitate bonding then I’m sure there must be places in the UK they could use. Then again, with the price of hotels in the UK it’s probably cheaper to fly off to Spain. 😀

There’s purpose built places with all the facilities for sports teams. But as far as warm weather goes, it’s similar to altitude training to a degree. If you can perform in extreme temperatures, it’s easier in cooler temperatures.

I hope we don't do such things anymore. Thats how you become unpopular in the game. I think that he has fallen out with Pearson who, as we know, is a 'my way or the highway' sort of guy

It's not our concern, it's Bristol who would be the bad guys in that scenario.

FWIW, I don't think he's fallen out with Pearson. Pearson is just a dinosaur who likes a flat back 4 of defenders, and Wilson's biggest attribute is the opposite of defending. It was a bad fit from the start. Couple that with being out injured for 3 months last season and here we are.

I dont think there will be to much exercise this week unless they are at La Mancha where there might be indoor air conditioned pitches, where I live, midway between Malaga and Marbella 36 C and 40 forecast tomorrow

Video yesterday had the temperatures on, think the warmest they were doing work in was 34 degrees. They're professional athletes, so I'm sure they'll still get some training in, but obviously allowances have to be made.

After watching that 6 min clip I’ve decided our goalscoring solutions are already in the squad.

Collins movement and finishing look great, I mean that might change when he’s got opposition defenders to beat but that doesn’t matter for now… 🤫

And yep, Brown looks like an absolute legend in the making, pretty sure he’s the new Dean Sturridge or Dean Saunders.

Main issue with Collins is he turns into Jack Marriott outside the box and becomes completely hopeless. Can we find a way to play and not have him involved until the final touch of the move? I don’t know.

Brown on the other hand… pace, power, first touch and finishing. Just hope he gets a chance with the first team squad round him to show what he can do. In all seriousness, if he works out to even some extent it could save us a lot of money in signings.

They play Salford at the Pinatar Arena so I’m assuming it’s the complex near there.

Can’t be bothered to look right now but I’m pretty sure it’s not on the doorstep of that place. It’s about an hour away I think. Someone correct me?

    Wildsmith

    Nelson Bradley Cashin

    Ward Bird Hourihane Elder

    NML Collins Barkhuizen

It is clear which end of the pitch needs further reinforcements but not a bad foundation at all. There is obviously also an argument for Smith starting in midfield for a bit more bite.

Don't think I've ever seen anyone suggest Smith adds bite before.

  8. I think we need 1 more up front, more in the 23-28 age range, then I'm hoping that Brown can step up too to give us 4 options. May as well be him than a loanee, he has a lot of attributes that we'd want from a loanee anyway. The rest of the budget would be better in the creative department. Don't trust Barkhuizen, NML is good but you don't want him playing as many minutes as last season. Kind of only leaves you with Sibley in those attacking midfield positions.
