Don't see it. Too many injuries, too much of a minor celeb and prob wants big $$$$.
Ability-wise though, yep, he's a good player for sure but Blackburn let him go for a reason and I suspect he's done for following his injuries.
Can't imagine that little injury-prone tubster doing the pressing that Warne wants.

This isn’t a rumour. This is an Oldben special. It’s a think piece by a pretend journalist.

One of @Big Trav’s hunches, if not firm information. Seems to be on the radar of other league one teams.

He won't get many goals, 9 in 74 League 1 games. Appears his brothers pretty quick though, so he might have speed.
Doesn’t really play as a striker too much.

I really don’t - my opinion is equally as valid as yours….and I note that you didn’t mention Mitrovic who’s 28…..
Your opinion is valid when you give proper evidence to have it. You haven’t.

Richie Barkers new interview,
- Joe Ward stayed at Moor Farm for a personal issue, then felt a tweak in his groin so has trained with u21s won’t be going to Spain.
- Barkhuizen hasn’t started running yet so won’t be joining the squad in Spain either, they hope he can train again next week.
- Washington has been out doing some ball work, so he’s getting closer.
- Sibley and Elder have missed a few sessions with knocks so they’re not at full fitness just yet.
- NML is linking up with the squad today.
About the best news we could’ve had on Barkhuizen for sure. Seems a fair few with niggles already though.

Firminho? Mitrovic? Rodrigo from Leeds? - possibly Henderson? - all more than capable of still playing in the PL, but they're being offered crazy contracts and walking away leaving the PL poorer for it....
Firmino is 31, Rodrigo is 32 and Henderson is 33.
a bit part player, one who went down and one who is on the cusp of being replaced.
You need stronger evidence than that.

I wondered if we might see a bit of a hiatus now until towards the end of the window.
Rumours have pretty much died at the moment. There’s nothing that seems likely to be real at the moment. I definitely don’t expect anything until they’re back from Spain now.

I'm finding it quite funny that the PL is being pillaged for talent by the Saudis - for years they've bought the cream of European football - now the boot is on the other foot and a lot of the owners will be thinking that they simply can't compete....
I may feel diferently if we're in the PL in the next few years, but as it stands, I'm loving them losing out....
That isn't what's happening though. What's happened is the likes of Chelsea have spent way too much on players and put them on way too much per week and the only place they can dump contracts like that to try and comply with FFP is Saudi Arabia. Most of the players going are way past their peak too.
Ruben Neves is probably the only one who could be argued is in his prime, but even that that, Wolves are in a tough financial position and were forced to be a selling club... and found the easiest dance partner going to get them out the hole.

I don’t think we’ll spend over a million pounds this summer. Just from rumours I’ve heard it sounds like free/ super cheap players only
Just add common sense to the reasons beyond rumours you've heard.
We'll sign 3-4 players before the end of the window now (Warne said 4-5 pre Wilson), and if we spend even as much as £500k total I'll be astounded.

£4 million is insane for the last year.
I don't think we'd have a chance of getting him. For how much we could pay. Peterborough will probably feel he's worth more to them for a season than letting him go and strengthening a promotion rival at the same time
West Brom also don't have a pot to piss in. They're the next us, Reading etc.

He said “A more rounded Squad”. Does that mean more points? I don’t know . I would be concerned if we had a few injuries as it stands. But once the season starts we must all back the team whatever.
Which as it stands, it actually is. And last I checked, the season isn't for nearly a month, and Warne has said 4-5 signings still and Wilson signed since. So chill your jets, and don't interpret people's words to suit whatever your pre-determined position is.

So you would be happy to go into next season with what we have . That’s fine , but let’s have no moaning or booing 10 games in.
He really didn't say that, did he?

I think Lewis Wing would be a better fit and is available on a free. But, I see both as being more of a replacement for Hourihane due to both being set piece takers. Both will also want to be starting almost every game, something we can't guarantee in a 3421 and having Hourihane and Bird.
Max Power is available and gained 16 assists along side his 5 goals in all competitions for Wigan in 21/22. Whilst primarily a CM, he would be excellent cover at RWB, in the event of 2 of our recognised wing backs being unavailable. In 21/22, he played half his games at CM (4 goals and 11 assists) and half at RB (1 goal and 5 assists). Pretty much everything we were hoping Knight would be for us last season.
He's not a name to get everyone excited, but I could also see it being someone like Dennis Adeniran who just got released by Sheff Weds. Another hard working and versatile midfielder. Will be content as a squad player, and has a reasonable minutes per contribution despite limited game time - 206.5 minutes per contribution in 22/23 (1239 mins played in all competitions). Still only 24 too.
Luke Amos scored 6 in 1348 league minutes in 21/22 but got frozen out of the squad last season and is now a free agent.Max Power supposedly going to Saudi Arabia.

It seems like he was due to sign for Reading but they can’t sort themselves out, same with someone else (Harris?) who just joined another League One club.
Wonder what state they’ll be in come opening day. Harvey Knibbs and Theo Walcott are another two players who are reportedly waiting around for deals at Reading.
Knibbs is an interesting one. Know we were loosely linked, and with him being a Derby lad, I was quite disappointed to see he was going Reading. But here we are, several weeks later, and nothing.

Is Joe Ward in Spain with the team? Haven't seen him in any of the training videos.
I believe he is there, but think Warne said he had a minor injury following the game Saturday.

Possibly Wilson if Elder unavailable, not sure about Ward on the left. I would have thought Forsyth or Sibley would be quite likely replacements there too.
Only going off what Warne himself said yesterday in one of the interview clips.

That is the most Jake Buxton type training camp I could think of.

It’s not him I’m advocating for banning. The masses would be banned for telling him what they think of him, which would be against forum rules.
