I don't understand why some threads that are shown to have absolutely no basis are locked and others, such as this one are not. There has never been any link whatsoever as far as I can see to us being interested in signing Martin

Never stood much chance tonight as I said when the draw was made. West Ham are comfortably a top half Prem side whoev underperformed this season with the quality in their squad. It showed tonight. We move on. 4th round of the FA Cup is excellent for a League One team.

Well yes, there aren't too many L1 teams in the Premiership, so that would make sense. ?

I'm always staggered, reading this thread and seeing how many fans still have doubts about Warne.
In my opinion, Warne's biggest strength is his clarity of thinking and the simplicity of the message he passes on to the players. Everybody knows exactly what their job is and exactly what is expected of them, both players and staff. Players are not asked to do anything complicated or anything they aren't capable of, which is rare in today's over complicated game.
I think that this clarity will also extend to the signing of players and I'm really looking forward to seeing the quality of the players he brings in once he has a free reign in the transfer market, because you can bet that players won't be signed on reputation. He will be just as happy buying a non league striker as an international one as long as they have the right character. 
He is proving to be far better than I imagined, as I was fairly cautious about him when he came in, but I think we have a special manager here and our biggest job is going to be hanging on to him if we can't keep up with his ambitions.

You need someone rational like me to come in and tell the truth:
Chris Martin would score 15, assist about 20, win approx 5 penalties by diving and take us to the top of the table if he signed tomorrow. Martin back with the Rams would have simply too much sauce for League One to handle, I’ve got approx £50 left in my skybet account and it would all go on Derby to be promoted before the final day of the season if Chrissy came back.

Whys that? CM's hold up play and bringing in the likes of Knight, NML and Barks would work well. Not to mention his finishing in the box

Indeed - And if it were a 'bums on seats' measurement, we'd certainly be top 20 in the country on average which is pretty damn good.

There's been a reduction in the number of P&R sites and one car park has closed - Trains to/from Brighton are an absolute nightmare at the best of times but the problem these days is that more kick off time changes and the trains often don't accommodate this. It's definitely a stadium you have to plan your day around visiting....

I agree. Had some great away days on crappy BR trains, even though we had to wait for the pubs to open after the game at 6pm. At least it gave us time to go to the nearest chippy.
