Reggie Greenwood reacted to Gee SCREAMER !! in Derby County Administration (with the slight possibility of Liquidation still there)

Wouldnt we have sold players to cover the losses?

The Daily Mail ( Matt Lawson in particular ) also said we had lost the first case and had a 20 plus points deduction incoming. That proved to be incorrect

That's bit rich coming from a supporter of a club who avoided bankrupcy by bullying some of their long standing playersinto ripping up their ontracts, resulting in some cases in bankrupcy and the end of their careers.

It’s funny, one reply to him saying PL teams operate a similar policy and he replies one minute later saying they don’t.
Numerous other replies asking him how he has arrived at his figures given transfers are largely undisclosed and asking for a bit more detail met with radio silence.
Football finance expert my ********.

Surely it isn’t as simple as saying that if we have to make adjustments, we fail P&S and get punished because if the EFL had done their jobs in the first place, as the governing body, they would have pulled Derby up on it. Derby would surely then have adjusted transfer plans accordingly to meet P&S at the time?

Depends on what the punishment might be:
If it’s slap on the wrist and a relatively small fine then yes, take it and move on. If it’s a points deduction, that’s a different matter and may depend on the number of points.

Swiss Ramble estimated that we were £34m within the P&S loss limit for the 3 years to 2017/18. If we take that as being correct and then include an additional £30m amortisation charge as per the Daily Fail reporting (and Kieran Maguire), we are STILL within the loss limit and therefore compliant.

Reggie Greenwood reacted to May Contain Nuts in EFL appeal
People want to see us punished for trying to 'manipulate' the system, even though we failed, ignoring that the state the club is in as a result of all of this is punishment enough.
Bizarrely though those very same people don't seem to hold any sense of disdain towards those who have successfully manipulated the system and got away with it and massively benefiting from their deeds.
Idiots and Bamfords.

This! There's not much I get on my soap box about but this is the one that lights my touch paper. Relegated teams not only often come down with the core of their PL squad still intact, but then get given millions to aid their cause. It's no wonder they'll invariably either get promoted straight away (aka Norwich / Watford) or at least be fighting for the play offs (aka Bournemouth / Swansea). Whilst the rest of the clubs, Derby in this case break the bank to try and compete.
By regaining immediate promotion the PL recoup something like £83 million for Norwich and Watford. Add to that what Bournemouth / Swansea would have got and you're looking at over £100 million. I know the EFL are supposedly looking to ask for this "back" but it's not the policy so is unlikely to wash. Distributing that money across the EFL clubs instead of back into the already overflowing PL coffers would provide a huge lifeline for many clubs. Whilst I know it's money that originates from the PL pot, so they'd see it as just keeping "what's ours", as it would have been paid into the EFL, why not still do so - it'd be a massive step in helping to keep the 69? EFL clubs afloat. Grrrrr

Kieran Maguire isn’t an expert. He’s repeatedly had it in for Derby and grassed us up to the EFL.

They were given a penalty during the season. The appeal wasn't until the season ended, with the original penalty standing. Very different circumstances than what we have.

First line: The EFL has won its appeal
Next paragraph: An independent panel will now decide on what punishment
So they haven't won anything yet. A "win" could simply be a penalty.
They state Wednesday as a "precedent", yet ignore the fact they were awarded the 12 point penalty at the end of last season, with the deduction being applied to this season. Using that precedent, a penalty for us would be applied to next season.
The reporting in this country is poor.
