Very sad news. Scraves and flanges will remain the greatest thing anyone has ever posted on a forum. He always made me smile with his sometimes ludicrous, sometimes unrealistic, sometimes fair but always highly passionate posts - a positivity that sometimes we could all do with a bit more of. His rallying calls were always crazy and brilliant.
He'll be missed and as others have said, I hope the kind words on this thread will bring some comfort to his family. Top man.

Anyway, in the spirit of and in honour of B4 - that was the performance and result I've been waiting for all season to make me believe we are capable of getting promoted. I thought we were excellent.

And it's the reason I don't wear one. Fully supportive of Remembrance Day, minute silence etc but the warriors who get so upset and angry if you don't wear one annoyed me to such an extent a few years ago with their virtue signalling that I just stopped out of principle.

Firstly, why should Derby accommodate this?
I’m not sure that something like this is necessary. It’s nothing to do with football, so why are people trying to introduce it en masse?
In the same manner that if someone wanted to do an equivalent for, say, Palestine, I imagine these same people would be suggesting that wasn’t acceptable.
If you want to show your support, wear a poppy.
If you don’t wish to then you don’t have to.
And most importantly, be respectful of each other’s personal views - just because people have a different outlook to you, it doesn’t mean you have to attack them - everything is so polarised nowadays, it’s exhausting.

The match is Derby’s closest home match in advance of Remembrance Sunday, which this year falls on 12th November, while the game itself falls on Armistice Day.
Ahead of kick-off on Saturday, those in attendance will be asked to observe the playing of the Last Post while wreaths will also be laid on the Pride Park pitch in the lead-up to the match getting underway by club officials.
Earlier in the day, a small service will be held by Club Chaplain Tony Luke at 11am at the War Memorial Plaque outside the Lionel Pickering Entrance and supporters are welcome to attend if they wish. This will include a two-minute silence to show respect and gratitude to the armed forces past and present who have lost their lives fighting for their country.
A collection will also be staged both outside and inside the ground should supporters wish to make a donation to the Royal British Legion.
All of Derby’s players will wear poppy armbands for the fixture, as well as members of the coaching staff.
The annual Remembrance Fixture is one of the key dates in the club’s calendar and in 2014 the specially commissioned War Memorial Plaque was erected next to the Lionel Pickering Entrance at Pride Park Stadium.
The Plaque bears the names of six former players of the club who sadly died in the First World War, whilst also remembering the many others with Derby County connections who answered the call to serve King and Country in two World Wars.
As part of the Remembrance activities in 2018, trees were planted at the club’s Moor Farm Training Centre to serve as living legacies to the hundreds of footballers who served and fell in the First World War.
    We Will Remember Them.
But yeah, we all know the real reason.
Football fans can be thick as f*** sometimes.
Editing for clarity, I mean those on twatter who think this is some kind of agenda. The club are doing plenty.
Perhaps allowing everyone to quietly remember and pay respect in their own way is going out of fashion. Maybe I'm just getting old.

I have some very sad news this evening.  Daniel (B4) died earlier this week. He was just 38.
As you know, he has been battling numerous health conditions for a long time, but always remained cheerful  and was the most loyal supporter of his beloved Rams, home and away.
He was at the match at Crewe and gave his full support as always.
Daniel leaves behind a grieving dad, mum and sister. Our thoughts go out to them and we only hope they get a little comfort from knowing how well loved Daniel is by all who know him.
Here are a couple of photos that his dad agreed could be shared. I'm sure many of you have others, as Daniel loved a selfie at the game.
David is hoping to arrange a more fitting tribute in time, but for now please raise a glass in his memory and a good Derby win today. I am sure that's what Daniel would have been doing tonight.

It was, and on the day, in a one-off 90 minutes, they defended very stoutly, better than plenty of league one outfits. These games can be tricky. Chesterfield of the national league beat Portsmouth, statistically the best team in league one. Cray Valley Paper Mills have just got a draw away at Charlton Athletic.

Sometimes it’s not as straightforward as we might believe it should be.

Got so fed up reading this rubbish that I decided to pop over to last year's Round One thread, where people will recall we drew with a team at the bottom of the National League, for a comparison.
Some things don't change, but we had less possession,  many less shots and were much more rubbish than yesterday.
We scored our two goals there very much against the run of play.
A few days later, we drew (lost on penalties) away at Liverpool and all was well again. That's football.

Haven’t read through the thread so probably an unpopular opinion, but I thought in the main we played well. Certainly better, even at 2-0 down, than in some recent league games.
The game showed up very well where we are strong and where we need to strengthen. Our approach play was excellent. Warne cannot legislate for Foz falling asleep or Bradley being unable to hold off his man. Or some of the poor quality pull backs from promising attacks. We all know we need a decent striker in the window. If cashin goes we will need a first choice centre half as well. We should have had the game with by half time but we didn’t, and as soon as we gifted them the second they just parked the bus.
To be able to play through 11 human beings camped in their area it requires the technical skill of a good Premiership team - as I type this watch how Liverpool are struggling to get through Luton - as we are a reasonable to good league one team.
Rather than just moan and think we should be smashing a team who are good as at least a quarter of league one teams, I’d praise the fact that they stuck at it and managed to get a result which looked highly unlikely at 88 mins.
