Jram reacted to Ghost of Clough in Academy Thread 20/21
I didn't make my comments because he's been taking part in first team training. I made my comments because he's head and shoulders above anyone else we have in the U18s - it's a no brainer to me that he'll step up to the U23s very soon.
Once at U23 level the competition on the right wing is currently Shonibare and Wilson. Across the forward line we also have Cresswell, Duncan, Stretton and Hector-Ingram who all prefer to play central meaning we only really have 3 wingers for two positions. Given the shortage of numbers , there is little competition preventing Gordon getting game time at that level and possibly impressing enough to get a first team opportunity. The U23s have 13 games from New Year onwards, plenty of time for Gordon to prove he's worth a go in the first team.
We'll have little to play for in the final 5 games of this season, so chances for youth players will be up for grabs.

Based on last nights performance, probably only a year away from the first team squad.

Going to league 1 would probably vastly improve academy players chances of breaking through tbh but maybe it’s not much of an incentive if your ceiling is as high as Gordon’s

Absolutely, you can't fault his attitude. Watching the Wycombe and Coventry games he was always talking and encouraging everyone around him and that's exactly what we need. This squad isn't lacking in quality, not to the extent where we should be bottom of the table, but when you're in a rut you need grafters, leaders and players with heart who are up for the fight, and CKR is exactly that kind of player. And, in fairness, he isn't exactly lacking in quality himself.

His interview was brilliant. I’m so sick of the cliches, it makes watching any player interview (or, frankly, pundit interview but that’s another issue) pointless because they show zero charisma and just spout bullocks. Kazim showed them the way

Watching his Rams TV interview was really good to watch. Straight talker and leader but also despite not beinv here long he seems to actually give a damn.
11 players on the pitch with his attitude we wouldnt be bottom 3 for long

Carson - Limited to 4 bench appearances in the cups.
Mitchell - Following 4 straight defeats in the league early in the season for Northampton, Mitchell came into the side and has played in the last 8 games. 1 clean sheet so far this season and he's helped them to 11 points. Points per game has increased from 0.7 to 1.4.
Ravas - Played the last 4 in all competitions for Hartlepool including a clean sheet in his last game.
Malone - Played in most of Millwall's games this season. Scored in the cup, but no direct goal contributions in the league
Jozefzoon - A regular for Rotherham. Only 1 assist (in the 3-0 win over Wednesday) in 8 games so far.
Marriott - Played 7 games with no goal contribution for Wedsnesday. Back at Derby receiving treatment for an injury.

At home to Cardiff in the third round of the FA Youth Cup

One of these years I would love us to actually do ourselves justice in this competition.

Jonathan Mitchell played in Northampton's 2-3 away win at Wigan and was booked in the 97th minute - I'm guessing for timewasting!
Florian Josefzoon played the whole of Rotherham's 1-0 defeat away at Stoke.
Jack Marriott started in Sheffield Wednesday's 1-0 away defeat at Wycombe, before being substituted in the 77th minute.
Jayden Mitchell-Lawson was on the bench for Bristol Rovers' 1-1 away draw at Rochdale. He was brought on in the 72nd minute.
Hartlepool lost 0-5 at home to Torquay yesterday, with Ravas on the bench. Maybe it means he'll get his chance, or perhaps it was one of those games where the keeper plays a blinder to prevent double figures.
Scott Carson didn't make the squad for Man City's 0-1 away win at Sheffield United.

Jram reacted to HuddersRam in Pride: The Inside Story of Derby County
Happy Friday one and all!
I should probably apologise in advance as I feel a little bit spammy, but I'm pretty excited to say that Pride (or Pride: The Inside Story of Derby County in the 21st Century to give it the full, far too long name) will be available from the club shop and online from this weekend!
Link - https://www.dcfcmegastore.co.uk/item/2865/Books/Pride-Na.html
For those who don't know, Pride is a project I've been working on for around three years in total, and it's seen me work with just over 60 former players, managers, chairmen, coaches and #ITK fans to tell the tale of the club from the moment we moved into Pride Park until the beginning of this year. It's not really a game by game account, it's more of a focus on each season, the on-field and off-field dramas (even the crash), all told by those who lived it from the inside. So to put the 60 people into context, it varies from the likes of Stefano Eranio, Steve McClaren and Warren Barton through to Gary Rowett, Harry Wilson, Giles Barnes, Inigo Idiakez and Jake Buxton.
The club have been extremely supportive and it's been a huge surprise to have them come on board, considering the content paints a factual tale, but they've been a huge help and it's fantastic to have them on board.
For anyone who has pre-ordered already - and a massive thank you for your interest in what began as just a daft little project to pass the time - what I'm going to recommend to people is that they cancel their pre-orders with Amazon and the likes, because hopefully money won't have been taken. Then the book will be available for around a week or two at the club and the megastore, before hitting the wider world. Unfortunately this one was out of my hands so I'm expecting a few pelters ?
I'll try not to spam too much but if anyone has any questions or comments on the book, what it's about or why certain people didn't make the cut, just reply or drop me a message. And most of all, for anyone who is keen and interested in understanding almost every major development and in-story of the club over 20+ years, I really hope you enjoy it. I'm on Twitter at @PrideDCFC where I'll be rambling to myself and sharing a few articles I've done over the past few months.
You might see/hear me a bit over the media over the next few weeks, so I'm always here to throw abuse at! I had a chat with the @Steve Bloomer's Washing team as well for their latest episode: https://soundcloud.com/user-147200653/sbw-94-Derby-county-2000-2020
Cheers,
Ryan

Just for information, I work occasionally in Nigeria (not this year obviously) and have come to realise that all the Nigerians I know are football mad. They know so much about English football, and all leagues as well. They particularly follow teams with players of Nigerian descent and the Rams are now firmly in their sights. They are following the Academy players Shonibare, Ebosele and Aghatise. And now we’ve got Ibe we are a favourite team (though not yet up there with Chelsea and Arsenal which are the two main teams followed there)
Hopefully I will go to Abuja next year and I’ll take some scarves and shirts with me.
