Definitely agree. Pride Park should be a fortress in this division with teams coming here scared of what they're going to come up against. I think we've lacked a bit of belief when playing at home recently and that needs to change. If we're a bit braver and a bit more aggressive I think the performances should come. The team need to get the fans involved in the game. We need something to shout about and roar on. We have 25,000 supporters every week in the third tier, it's time the team took advantage of that fact.

We need a strong performance today, not just a result. We really haven't turned up at home yet to a game which has understandably frustrated fans. At some point, we need to put down a marker that we are the ones to beat and nail our colours to the promotion mast.

    Kind of agree.
We’ve been improving a bit, got 2 good results last week with 2 clean sheets despite differing performances. I feel like, regardless of who the opposition are today, it’s time to really kick on. We’ve got some players back to fitness, others have settled down… let’s go out there and show a bit more. It’s a sneaky big moment for the season for me.

What concerns me is that it will take a really big club to go under for this to be sorted. At one point, I honestly thought we'd end up being that cautionary tale for everyone else.

Yeah, exactly. A lot of other teams fans still don't seemed to have grasped just how perilously close we were. I've read some absolute garbage written on social media by the ill-informed (that's pretty much the same thing I guess..) that suggests that we were 'always going to get dug out of the s*** by someone'. That is absolutely not true. It was the Clowes cavalry, driven by a desire to save his club for the city; or absolute and utter oblivion and start again with a phoenix club at whatever level we would be allowed to participate. It was that black and white. Time had run out, the good ship DCFC was going down with all hands.
The fans were outstanding in terms of loyalty and resilience and raising the profile of the issue but we cannot save a club on our own with the staggering debt profile of some clubs these days. The sheer size of the unserviceable debt that can be run up, and the way that owners can just throw a club and fans and history under a bus, and the way that primary assets like the stadium can be separated from the football side of things, added to the tacit encouragement by the EFL to let teams sue each other for damages for any perceived wrongdoing and it is surely just a matter of time before a bigger club pops in a messy way, and even then some people will still be surprised by this when it happens.
People have to stop assuming that some Arab Sheik or wealthy American consortium will just sort it out - The debt in the championship even is getting beyond the means of anyone but the absolutely loaded. Where there is no financial case to be made for buying a club because of issue like above (no stadium asset, crippling debt, guaranteed relegation due to points deductions, looming litigation etc) then you are left hoping for a miracle. A miracle that makes little financial sense to sort.

The current crop of bigger sides that are in trouble may be OK because they don't have all these factors stacked up against them, but our situation will not be unique unless rules change. Someone else will suffer that perfect storm of circumstances because nothing has been addressed in the governance and finance of the game.

The Scunthorpe example is particularly scary because the owner seems to be actually taking glee in their plight.

Not everyone has a David Clowes riding over the hill on a white charger. Sometimes that noise approaching is just another 10,000 orcs who have come to burn your castle down.

The vast majority of the criticism I have seen has been constructive. I'm very critical of the decision made to bring Warne in, how Warne has managed the squad and the way we approach games. I've been constructive in my critiques saying why i think we're on the wrong path and what i think we need to see corrected. No-one is wallowing in negativity and nor are we demanding Barcelona football. But we've played poorly too regularly for too long and it is starting to grate on people.
It's not that we should be wiping the floor with little old Carlisle it's that the performance is a reflection of the terrible performances we've consistently seen. Eric Steele, an experienced man in football, was absolutely scathing about our performance and demanded better. I think he's a realistic man and is hardly one who wallows in negativity either.
Possession football is totally doable in this division. Plymouth played a possession based game and wiped the floor with the division. So did Brentford before them, Bournemouth before them and Swansea before them. This is off the top of my head. We looked far better and more comfortable under Rosenior playing a possession based game than we have done under Warne playing basketball.

Not sure if this a great joke or a serious post.... If it's serious, then it's absolutely bonkers. At what point can we start critiquing the decisions made by Clowes? Is there a sell-by date where saving the club loses its power for us to say Warne is the wrong man? Of course, every derby fan will forever be grateful to Clowes for saving the club. How could we not be. But that doesn't mean thinking every move he makes is right, nor do we lose our right as fans to have our say. If we take anything from the Morris era, it should be that allowing an owner carte blanche for whatever reason is a lousy idea.
So far on the big calls I'd say he's 0-3. I thought he was wrong to oust Rosenior after 10 games, wrong to bring Paul Warne in, and wrong to keep Pearce around. On the plus side, he's stabilised the club, not been reckless with the cash and seems to have brought a much better culture with him at the club.

If David Clowes hadn’t saved the Club you wouldn’t be on here constantly moaning. Possibly Don Amott might be the subject of your negativity instead. In my view Clowes has carte  blanche to do whatever he wishes for a few years yet. He will run the Club as he sees fit and employ who he wants to employ. The Club is gradually being transformed totally I guess, even if most of us aren’t aware of the steps being taken.
First and foremost Clowes is a Derby County fan - he is totally aware of our current internal situation (unlike us) and no doubt, just like us would like to see better performances than we have seen so far. The only difference is that he has stumped up millions to save our club - I know you have bought your season ticket and have you travelling costs. But there is a huge difference and I think he deserves our support, rather than questioning his early tenure. If he believes that Pearce is the right person to employ, knowing fully what has happened in the past, then who are we the question his decision.
Under Paul Warne our away results have improved, lest we not forget previous terrible runs. We do need to improve at home, but for many visiting teams a visit to Pride Park is their FA Cup Final and make things difficult for us.I am sure things will improve as some of our players return. We have had cruel luck with injuries so far and I just don’t buy the idea that these are caused by the current training regime (which of course to many is Paul Warner’s fault too).
For goodness sake, there are a few “fans” who need to bite their lips and not behave like spoilt children because they can’t immediately have all the toys for Christmas they wanted. If you can’t support our Club, in these early years of rebuild, go and “support” some other club or start your own Forum “ Negative Rams Members Only”. There are a few that would love to contribute.

My opinion of Rosenior at the time was that it was a mistake to get rid of him. I wanted him to be given until Christmas to turn around the away form, and if he hadn't, then look at bringing in someone more experienced. Looking back and thinking about it, I'm pretty sure Rosenior would have steered us into the playoffs in the end. He built that squad to build his brand of football and we would have had more in the tank energy-wise than under Warne. Unlike Warne, Rosenior's recruitment here and at Hull has been exemplary, so I'm sure we'd have gotten in reinforcements in January as well. In the playoffs, who knows what would have happened, but it would have been very sweet to see us get promoted under him.
I felt at the time bringing in Warne was an error and remains so. Not because he won't get us out of the division (i think he will next season) but because i have absolutely no faith in him doing anything except relegate us in the championship. I wanted us to invest in a coach who could be part of a longer-term project to guide us not just out of this league but the next one as well. I hope I turn out to be wrong as I was ultimately with Rooney who I spent months lambasting before he became our talisman.

I think the teams that have come up are deciding to bank the money, gamble they'll come back up the following season and then make a proper fist of it. It seems to be the way some teams approach promotion and see it purely in financial terms. Sheffield United have actually weakened their squad by selling off Sander Berge which made many United fans irate.
I don't think there's a giant difference between the bottom 6 or 7 in the premier league and the championship these days. If you recruit smartly and have a good manager who can adapt there's a solid chance you'll survive as a new club. Recent history bears that out generally. Of course, it generally still means a relatively significant investment in the playing side to give you a good chance.

One fan I met couldn't believe that I had a season ticket and went to every game. He said after about 10 games he would have stopped going and probably never gone back the next season either.
Its a badge of honour for me among friends who support massive clubs and have seen them play maybe once or twice in the flesh that I kept going and still do.
Worst team in history? Yeah we were. The fans showed they were anything but and we should be eternally proud of that and own it as a club and a fan base.

My life only really began when I met my wife. She’s given me everything I ever wanted, the idea of not being able ask her opinion, to never see her smile again, to look into her eyes and see nothing but pure love and devotion, I don’t think I’d ever be myself again without her. I’d fight on for the sake of our kids but if I lost her a huge piece of me would go with her.

We need to do something collectively to show Josh and his family that they are part of our family now, something that lasts and will always celebrate Laura’s memory, something that also remembers the ones we’ve lost as well to this vile disease, something that shows our complete and unwavering solidarity.
