Steve Buckley’s Dog got a reaction from ariotofmyown in Teden Mengi - signed on loan until the end of the season
Should we applaud his attitude or be concerned that he was a centre half in a team that let in 6?
I for one am taking no chances and have started booing him already.

Thanks all, it is a beautiful course. Played twice with my lad in the last few days of it being open, including into near darkness on New Years Eve. Didn’t think about anything else, didn’t even worry about my wayward shots-just enjoyed the beautiful course and being with my lad and thought about the many afternoons I had spent with my dad and his mates when I was growing up.
Feel free to pass the details on to your friends. The more the merrier, it gives a faint glimmer of hope in these thoroughly miserable times. And I agree, these ‘mind spaces’ are going to be so so important going forwards. Doing all of this through COVID as well seems a little too convenient to me.
Anyway, thanks to all those who have signed.

I haven't found the time to drag my clubs out for probably 3 years now, but when I did, and due to my skill levels(!), the likes of Sinfin and Allestree were right up there as the most likely destination.
Consider me another signature added. ?

Signed that.
All things cost money but these open spaces for a bit of mind space will be essential going forward.

I've signed. I played there quite a few times many years ago when I first started "playing". Considering it was a municipal course it was excellent. It also appeared in a golf magazine as one of the 20 best municipal courses in Britain.

I find it a little difficult to believe that he hasn’t got an agent. The murky world of academy football and under the table offers to children and their families starts well before the age of 16. Transfer values are attached and agents ‘advise’, even those whose chances of making it are slim. Internal politics and favourites exist whilst offers are made to circumnavigate rules about distances from training grounds. Money talks. It is all about commodities and risk for bigger clubs, like Man City for example. What to do for the best must be extremely hard for the children and their families.

I think I might have misinterpreted that in a Brookside/Trevor Jordache kind of way.

Just got back from a lovely walk and seen this incident. What a terrible decision from the goalkeeper and referee. Agree with Lineker. Isn’t this what VAR is mean to prevent? Exactly the kind of decision we would get given against us. I look forward to Dyche’s gruff and perplexed voice later on.

Steve Buckley’s Dog got a reaction from Mucker1884 in Season Ticket Refunds
I have finally had an email from the club who helpfully said that they were ‘unable to give a timeframe on the refund’. They also said that as I had requested a discount on the 20/21 season ticket rather than a refund then my refund would be in the next batch of refunds!! What a pathetic explanation!
I pointed out that as I had renewed my season ticket in February then I wasn’t getting a discount but a refund and they were playing semantics. I also pointed out that not being transparent and honest about this was creating frustration and ill will amongst their most loyal customers, which isn’t a great way to run a business.
I am beginning to object to this nonsense. All it would take is some transparency and explanation. All we had was a promise that refunds would be made in September and nothing since. I don’t understand why putting out an official explanation / email would be so difficult. I think it might take someone half an hour to do so. This could and should have been done a long time ago.
If it was BT/British Airways or some such company I would be getting a lot more ‘complainy’, as it is the club I love they are relying on good will, which is running dry.

Anyone else still waiting?
Not had my refund or my child’s. 9 months is a long time. I can’t understand why there is no explanation and emails just get a standard response.
A lot of good will is getting lost. A simple email of explanation would have been nice but I guess the club can only send bulk emails trying to sell us things rather than a clarification of the current position.
I know that Forest fans are in a similar position and, nosing around the Millwall forum after kneegate, they seem to have had no refund or explanation either.
Undoubtedly these are really hard times for football clubs but it seems that ignoring your fan base and not affording them the courtesy of an explanation is a pretty poor long term strategy and wouldn’t cost them anything.

Totally agree. I think we have two better left backs on our books than him.
Always liable to get done on the back post and his concentration in these situations is poor. I think Buchanan struggles a bit in these situations also but am confident that he will learn and he is a good few years younger.
I know a Sheff Utd fan and he is less than impressed. Still, he got his move so good luck to him.

Currently working on future Booker Prize winner, Stern John: My Pride Park Years.
Not actually interviewed him, just 300 pages of what he probably thought.

Not a chance. I am truly after the cream here so want Dean Holdsworth as well now, surely, along with Hector and possibly Bloomer, the greatest centre forward to have ever played for us. Magical memories. I hope he gets his own chapter in your book.
