I was going to mention reading Keogh's interview, but then I remembered that this is the non-fiction thread.

I tell you what, I sometimes forget about how much me and Jennifer Anniston were meant to be together…how happy we would make each other….she would make all this rubbish at Derby County just fade away in my memory.

Having read the article and seeing this at the bottom
In the UK and Ireland, Samaritans can be contacted on 116 123.
I expected the next line might sat something like . Mr Keogh has donated his 30 pieces of silver for this story to the above charity. Especially, seeing as he's had such a humongous cheque.
Nah, why would I expect anything else .

Not done a thing wrong in two tough games. Strong shot stopper and safe hands with crosses. Quick to tell the defence to get out today as well.
Looks a keeper!

14 pages to find a Jason Knight thread, and it still wasn't really about the player.
Superb today, what an engine. Looked fooked in the first half, looked fooked in the second yet was everywhere!

Well yes. A proper journo would have asked.. "So Richard you were the only person who was injured out of the four people you say were in the car? Why do you think that might have been? Was it perhaps because you were not wearing a seat belt?"
"Will the people who lost their jobs this week from Derby County be getting £2 million payouts after self inflicted injuries that prevent them from doing their jobs anyway?"
"Why are you coming out with this stuff now, could it have anything to do with the fact that you are worried your big windfall might be at risk if Derby go up in smoke?"
"How many games have you played in the Premier League Richard?"
"Isn't £2.3 milion rather a lot of money for a player of such limited ability , even if you had been paid for playing instead of paid for inflicting on yourself an injury of you own making?"
These are the sorts of questions I would be asking.

I don't agree that employers should be responsible for for nurturing and shielding of their employees outside of the working environment/hours, which that evening was.
It was not a team event. It was a social event... voluntary... outside of working hours... outside of working jurisdiction... the aftermath of a team event, which had already ended. (The club of course, did not order all full grown adults to immediately go home, and go to bed, at 8pm!)
If you organised a works pi$$ up, that would have no relevance to this situation, as it was not a works pi$$ up. See above.
