At what point does a people begin to take responsibility for the state of it's nation. You can't impose peace, social responsibility, law and order etc from outside, or can you?

    Don’t you mean you’re ‘4-casting’ a win..?!
May the fours be with us.

On the back of 4 straight wins, the 4 point gap and the 4-0 in the reverse fixture, I'm feeling quite relaxed and confident, and forecast a win.
    Cue disaster...

Well, you could try the classic "I forgot the rings" maneuver and make a clean escape to watch the game.

Hello! I’m new to the forum and posting - so please be patient with me! My grandpa Harry Brown was the editor of the match day program “The Ram” until he passed away in 1988, and I was brought up as an avid Derby fan living in Lancashire. Recently I’ve been at my parents house, and came across a box full of his belongings from his office that was cleared when he died. There are lots of photos and negatives from pictures that went in to the program, along with cuttings, programs, letters etc. I was wondering if there would be any interest if I posted pictures on here? Maybe people would recognise those in the photos? Adding a photo of car parking pass for 1988/89 season unused as an example. So much history ☺️

VAR has destroyed the instantaneous joy of scoring a goal. A player in a suspiciously offside position leads me to glance at the lino and the ref whilst jumping around, however, if the same was to happen in a game with VAR, I wouldn't celebrate until the VAR check is over, but by then, the moment has passed.
It's sucking the joy out of live football.

People will think I'm being over dramatic, but these are some of the most important games in our history. We've never spent more than two consecutive seasons in this god-forsaken league. Fail to get promoted again this season and there could be a downward spiral. Crowds will fall away, good players will leave, the academy will be ransacked again...
Make it out and maybe we'll look back in a few years and pinpoint this moment as when everything changed, and Derby County rose up the leagues to restore themselves and their reputation among England's footballing elite.

Not quite old enough! 🙂 I was a Rams fan then but I don't think my parents would haved let me travel all the way down from West Yorkshire on my own at 11 years of age! 🙂 First time I tried to get down was the Forest game which we won 4-1 but I only made it as far as Leeds, Our cash wouldn't stretch any further than that and my first actual game was I believe Man City at the Baseball Ground when we signed Swindlehurst on the pitch! I've seen quite a few downs and not seen too many ups since then, let's hope this season is an up as it's been too long! 🙂

...has announced her retirement from competitive cycling.
I thought she deserved her own thread as one of Britain's greatest Olympians and greatest cyclists of either sex, but also as the epitome of a grounded, modest superstar. She and her husband Jason are no 'Posh and Becks' just great examples of how to deal with sporting success and all that comes with it.

TBF Ward is very much like Beckham was.  Get a yard then ping it in, and their left sided players didn't give him much space in the 1st half.  Therefore Warne made the change and Wilson being more of a dribbler was able to get at them a lot more effectively.  His goal came from a corner he himself won by going at their left back.
My point is our head coach identified a problem, and solved it.
I'd love for us to be like the Mac 1 era and blow teams out the water with free flowing, passing football, but let's remember that even Mac 2 failed to recreate that, and had no Plan B.  Here we have a coach who's had Plans A through to H, and some fans still think he's just a PE teacher who just shouts "Hoof it" at every game.  Is he perfect?  No.  Has he made mistakes?  Yes.  Overall is he doing a good job of getting us into a position whereby we could escape this league?  Yes.  Therefore he's well on target to reach the targets his employer set him...

I'm not here to challenge anyones opinions, they are what they are, let them be.
Personally I'm delighted with the job that Warne is doing, I think Dwight Gayles recent interview and the scenes at full time in front of a sell out crowd on Saturday show the togetherness of this team is a credit to the management team.
His style may seem a little unorthodox to some and it won't suit every player, yet it's working with what was assembled whilst scraping barrels under EFL's restrictions makes it even more of an achievement.
When you look at the likes of Sunderland, Leeds, Forest who came down here, to think we can be in and out in 2 seasons is truly remarkable given the state of the club.
Important to point out, the season isn't done, we still have 7 huge games to play before we can start to think about the Championship, although no matter what happens between now and May, I have seen significant improvement to be fully behind Warne next season regardless of what division we are in.

You’re right.  Let’s ignore the actual result, the points awarded and league position and instead focus on a hypothetical scenario against an average team at a neutral ground.  Makes perfect sense.
