Excellent results tonight, Peterborough seeing Olakigbe sent off before scoring 2 own goals to lose 2-1, and in-form Stevenage contriving to lose at home to Reading. Bolton's game abandoned means their fixtures continue to buildup - there might be a stage when it comes back to bite them. Two-thirds of the season down, we're looking at:
Bolton 28 58pts 2.07ppg [projected 95] Portsmouth 31 63pts 2.03ppg [projected 93.5] DERBY 30 59pts 1.97ppg [projected 90.5] Peterborough 30 56pts 1.87ppg [projected 86] Barnsley 29 53pts 1.83ppg [projected 84] Stevenage 29 52pts 1.79ppg [projected 82.5] Oxford 30 51pts 1.7ppg [projected 78] Blackpool 30 46pts 1.53ppg [projected 70.5] I'd say Oxford are now out of the running for the autos - they'd need to win 14 out of their last 16 games.
I think 94 points will likely get second place, which means 11 wins and 2 draws for us. Win 12 of the last 16 and we're surely over the line.

I take back what i said previously. Thought it would be the classic derby having our pants down in the transfer window and then getting someone back on loan half arsing it. But he didnt. Dont know if it was having adams there to mop up behind him but thought bird looked like his old self again, which is kinda annoying seeing as hes no longer our player 🤣

Saturday 10th February 2024. 3pm kick off.
Fingers crossed NML’s foot injury isn’t too serious and he’s able to play a part at the weekend. No midweek game is a big plus so he is able to fit in some more recovery time.
Do we stick with the 3-5-2? Probably the best we looked in the system so far this season. Can’t help but feel Adams inclusive made a huge difference to the way it worked.

Good win. 1 nil away is always a great result, even more so after a so so performance. Good to see other teams drop points too. A good Saturday 🐑

Automatics - I don't mind which.
At the start of the season, I said that it was our third spell in the third tier, and in the two previous times, we had got promotion at the second attempt, and I saw no reason at all why this season should be any different to the others.
You can analyse points per game until you are blue in the scrotum for all I care. The fact that Posh and Notlob were on good runs means nothing - both have to pick themselves up after disappointing results today.
Derby, according to a few of you, are faltering, because we've only picked up 10 points in the last 5 games. Well, so have Portsmouth, so have Bolton, so have Peterborough and so have Barnsley. The 'form' team, if there is one, is Stevenage. 4 wins in 5. Or, at a stretch, Leyton Orient with 4 wins and a draw.
I think we'll be ok. That might be my boundless optimism, strange drugs or alcohol speaking, but it's a darned sight better than the inane, depressing drivel that is churned out on here when we win, let alone lose.
