In both cases we were doing just fine in defence then the introduction of Bradley (no offence to him) meant a reshuffle which was unnecessarily unsettling.
I’m not going to knock PW this week though because the introduction of TJJ was great 😊 

One more go on this. This goal actually gives me huge hope for the season. I love the pressing before it, that Port Vale were never able to get the ball out of defence. Then the pass from NML is superb.  But the finish from JJ is such class, never in doubt, ultra skillful. The chance came, he'd put himself in the right place and he took it majestically. Lots and lots of ifs, but if we keep him, and can keep him fit, I think it points to a splendid second half of the campaign.

That cant be plural, because 2 half chances would equal 1 chance and we only had 0.7 remember.

Lots of positives right now, it's baffling why there is still negativity from some people.

+15 goal difference (3rd best in the division)
14 points at home (2nd best in the division)

etc etc 

Nice to see Bradley’s reaction to Wilson defending our box well …run up to him and congratulated him …I like that …

Good hard fought win tonight, a big shout out to our centre backs, for me the best pairing in the division, both Cashin and Nelson where again outstanding, fewest goals conceded in the division, our centre backs are rock solid, and a great goal to boot, for me a deserved win, there goalie was the busiest keeper on the pitch, 4 wins in a row now, a good christmas period could see us banging on the door of the top 2, also thought Wilson was very good tonight, is very positive and put 3 or 4 very decent crosses in. 

The problem is mate that us older lads know that promotion from this league does not rely on stats. It relies on team spirit, hard work and a bit of luck (after the last few years that's one thing we hopefully have in the bank). Many of us wax lyrical about Bobby Davison and Phil Gee firing us to glorious promotions yet often the games were bloody hard work with just an occasional flash of brilliance....like NML's superb pass to the young lad tonight.

Young Vale fan doing some interviews with our lads who are being top lads with him. NML said he remembered him from last year when he asked Didzy about his song. 

Reading some of these comments, really don't understand the need to slag certain ones off in a need to find a negative...bizarre, they are all part of the squad and will have a contribution to make over the season.
 
No wonder why PW often gets defensive in interviews.

Deserved win, a huge win considering the orher results tonight too. 4 in a row, a clean sheet & TJJ back from injury with a goal.
Shame that despite this people still needlessly need to have digs at players like Bradley & Collins, really what is the point? It is of no benefit to anyone & just shows negativity when its not needed.
We have won 4 in a row, one of the most in form teams in the league, joint best defence & within touching distance of the top 2 without really hitting top performances YET, they will come as confidence grows, Warne himself said this is the time of year his teams start to click & kick on in the league.

He's young, and coming back from injury. Let's just ease him back in, and not ruin him.

Only Portsmouth and ourselves winning in the top 6 at this point. If it's stays like this... It'll be a good night.

I know that Matt Hamshaw and Andy Warrington were taking a direct interest before this to be fair. Back in October the academy coaches had considered putting Jack Thompson into the U21 side. Discussions surrounded as to whether or not he was ready to step up at 16. Hamshaw and Warrington watched him in the U18 team and said they wanted to see him in the U21s because they thought he was ready and so he was put in. A friend of mine watched the game on the TV stream last night and he says that Bradley Johnson commented that having Thompson in goal is almost like having an extra defender because he is so good with the ball at his feet and the defence use him in passing out from the back.

In fairness to Warne and his staff this is the first time they have been at a club with an academy. Using the available resources at the right time may be a learning curve for them. The interviews I have seen with Matt Hale, Craig Fleming, Bucko and Danny Maye  are very encouraging for me and I think we may be seeing positive signs of a closer bonding between the first team and academy coaches. I hope so because it can only be for the greater good of the club.
