Well that performance last night was an absolute tonic to me after a dreadful Christmas (my dad is terminally ill and has been in hospital throughout Xmas). I wasn't going to go , even though the Kassam Stadium is less than 2 miles away from where I live but my family persuaded me to so I went and apart from that first 15 minutes I had the best away day I've had for years. That second half performance was brilliant; relentless attacking pressure that blew Oxford away. The Rams fans last night were also amazing; you wouldn't have known we were the team 2-0 down. I couldn't speak at the final whistle from all the singing!
Its nights like that that make following this club so special. After what has been a rough few weeks personally I really needed that experience last night.

I’m in full agreement with you on this one.
Last night Wildsmith gave away a very poor penalty in my opinion, rash to rush off his line, left himself exposed (ooo matron), then had a choice to make to either shepherd the player away from goal or take him out….silly. But he won’t be ridiculed and derided for it like Ward has been for his recent brain farts, and the same for Bradley since those early fixtures.
He’s come on in plenty of games as part of this unbeaten/winning run and helped us get over the line. His introduction and the subsequent tactical change of shape last night helped us get the win.
They’re doing their jobs as part of a squad to help the club get back up the league, I will never understand the need for people to scapegoat players relentlessly.

I get a bit bored with all the Bradley comments.  My missus says "watch out" every time he comes on FFS.  We're in League One.  He made a mistake in his first game for us and made a nervous start after that.  Did people expect us to sign players that never make mistakes?  We're incredibly lucky to have the back four that we do, at least two of them are too good for this level. But even they make mistakes.  We conceded two goals in the first 15 minutes yesterday.  Were none of our defenders at fault at all for either goal?  It's always Bradley that's on the receiving end of the negativity though.  I don't see it.  He hasn't done anything wrong for some time now.

Fairly certain Bradley threw himself into a block/tackle late on when their striker was about 12 yards out with our goal at his mercy. No matter the current run of results, that Bradley has played his part in, some seem hung up on the early errors he made in a Rams shirt.

Morning reflections, that was a cracking game of football.  A brilliant win and well deserved.  It took us a bit of time to settle and they came at us in the first 15 mins or so.  But that’s to be expected.  They’re a team in the same situation as us in that they’re aiming and battling for promotion.  They were the home side against the form team so they’ll want to get an early advantage.
But then we settled, got a foothold in the game and from then on, 2nd half in particular, we controlled it.  It felt like it was a matter of time before we scored.
On this run we’ve shown all the hallmarks of a good team/squad.  Everyone has played their part superbly, whether starting or from the bench.  You can tell by the celebrations in the last 2 games they’re a tight knit group which bodes well.  We’ve ground out wins when not playing that well, we’ve been resilient and fought back from behind and on Boxing Day, my favourite of the run, we’ve controlled a game.  When was the last time we conceded from open play?  From memory, the last 5 against us have been 2 free kicks and 3 penalties.

Can't help my little downer, given the obvious absentee from those scenes, as this was what he lived for.
... But hey... we know he's up there.  We know he's still watching.  We know he's still bouncing.
He'll not be resting in any sort of peace just yet a while... He'll be friggin' buzzin'.  His spirt lives on.

That wasn't my point. It was that the emphasis Warne has made on the 'character' of the players he's signing has been ridiculed.
All the Warne-isms (the boards with photos, constantly texting all the players, little quirky ideas about making them share feelings to bond as a team etc etc)...
Well as a team that were mentally so strong,  so together. Never flinched....
My mate was constantly in my ear 'we are winning this...'.. it felt inevitable.
Maybe,  just maybe Warne knows what he's doing with building a decent culture at the club.
A lot of begrudging fans are saying even if he gets us up we will be terrible in the next league because of the type of football he plays. Maybe the culture, the togetherness of the whole staff etc may count for more than we think.
Tonight it showed its value. No shirking, no fingerpointing, no heads going down.  Just 100% commitment to the cause. Yes, from the new players but from from all the players he is working with every day.

Didn't someone who knows quite a bit about football once say that the sign of a good team is one which manages to eke out a result even when not playing at their best?
What Derby seem to have the makings of, certainly at the moment, is a 'good team' - with the emphasis on 'team'. They are a unit - not necessarily the most gifted players individually (you wouldn't expect that - they are a side thrown together in a short period of time, playing in the third tier of English football, assembled on a shoestring budget under all sorts of restrictions - but they are fighting for each other, and the results themselves have been remarkable over the last couple of months.

25 points out of the last 27 available, it’s been a fun little run thus far. Warne and his staff have consistently mentioned the need to put runs together since they joined the club, nice to see it proving true. I don’t think this run will last all season, the key will be regaining momentum if and when we do falter.

The drivel about corners for a start - and basically criticising Warne for playing the same starting eleven.

Whilst you were by no means the knee-jerkiest offender, it's probably the repetition that made your comments stand out from many of the others.
Also, given your seeming desire for Barkhuizen to be consigned to the scrapheap (following brilliant performances in recent games), aren't you setting yourself up for a fall if he bags a brace on Monday?
Sorry if I come across as being a bit grumpy - just coming through my first-ever Covid episode has not put me in good humour - but The Rams have certainly helped me feel better.

    What a result. What a f****** result.
The performance, the comeback, the nature of the win. We shot ourselves in the foot early on, 2-0 down away to a top 6 side within 15 mins and could've succumbed to a nothing performance. We did the exact opposite.
Our form is excellent but this is the biggest "sign" for me. We can win in different ways, put in different types of performances and still get results. It's the sign of a promotion team.
I'm probably getting carried away, but you don't see this kind of thing from Derby very often. I hope we follow it up with a win vs Posh, then we really are onto something.
But for now, I'll enjoy tonight. Luckily I'm a moderator and can go and clear any trace of my Warne comments after the Stevenage game, because I was very wrong. He deserves so much credit, he's got us doing things I never thought he'd be capable of. Hats off to you gaffer.

I'd be happy for Elder to be given more game time, but I'm not sure today is the right time. We've got Burton and Cheltenham at home in January - I'd be more inclined to rest Fozzy then if needed. I think Warne should be thinking short term of the next two games and picking the strongest side for each one. It'll be interesting to see what happens in terms of subs tonight if it's a close game.

I notice that there are rather a lot of people having a go at Roy Mac on this forum. Maybe you find him abrasive, maybe not. In reality he speaks his mind, which last time I checked is still allowed on this forum. Well it makes a change from picking on Paul Warne, or Keogh, or whoever else has got it in the neck. How about we wind our necks in and big up the Rams. And before anyone says it, I have been critical of the Rams during the downtime this season, (and last one as well) because it was entirely self-inflicted, as we are capable of so much more, as we are finding out now that we are playing proper football.
There are enough areas in life where it is no longer possible to speak out against the flow, b ut please not on here. Different views are part of what makes this forum worth being on.

It wasn't Rooney that got us relegated it was MM and the EFL, He had great sympathy for those who were about to lose their jobs, Trying to console them when seeing them at PP, Paying for the transport for away games also, He bailed after the fiasco of a failed sale, I believe he was advised by Stretford his agent to call it a day at PP, Then soon after he's in the USA.
I like WR, I don't like BCFC, No tears from me if both fail.
