Wow that's some statement yoof what's it based on...2 away games?, Teams have a wobble or in Crewtons mind a "Wibble 😁", I was really hoping we'd be sitting on top of the division this Morning, It would have been nice to see for all the hard work that's been put in the last couple of months...but alas we're not.
There's no magic wand where football is concerned, Players have to want it, I believe last night they wanted it, Unfortunately a team called Reading put the mockers on their plans, A Reading that are in turmoil but a Reading team that has a pretty good performance rating this last 6 games.
I was disappointed last night...so much so that I turned down a free ticket for Saturdays game, I'm a bit like you I can get wound up by results and performances, PW commented after the Burton game when asked "have we a few more gears to go through" PW said "maybe we are at 5th gear now" so this is it, We're a league1 team with League1 players that sometimes play well and sometimes play bad, Just because we get the top end of 26/28k home gates and we have EPL standard ground and training facilities, We need better players to go with it...ATM we have a squad capable of getting to the play offs at the very least...time will tell if Warnes happy to stay down with the dead men 😉

Could Paul explain the reasoning for dropping a goal keeper who hadn't really put a foot wrong for 18 months.  And what does he think that would do for said goal keepers confidence?

I do agree, yet smith when hes fit would be my replacement if he got injuried. I would like to keep our funds for a striker and cm. Week in week out our midfield doesnt work bird had 1 really good game out of 7 and all the rest we lose our midfield. I feel wildsmith does alot more for our team then alot realise as we seem to sit alot deeper with vickers in goal

Bird, NML and Collins have played too many minutes and too high a pace and intensity.
They are all now knackered. As our game plan involves running around a lot, this is a slight issue.

I think it’s a bit of both, but it’s exposed by poor game management. I think for the last few games it’s probably been the issue, but last night really showed it. We’d win the ball and Wilson or NML were running into blind alleys where they were doubled up on. Bird and Hourihane were passing 10 yards ahead of a man trying to make things happen quick rather than holding onto the ball and maybe trying to make Reading chase. There is room for that in Warneball despite what people think. We were predictable in what we wanted to do and erratic with how we did it because we had no way of slowing the game down.
We miss Nyambe, I think that’s the big one and most obvious. We didn’t look poor against Peterborough whereas in the games since we haven’t been anywhere near as convincing. Nyambe has a bit of composure and can find himself in space with the ball. Smith is another one who i think right now we miss. Yes hes a bit of a sideways passer and not the most exciting but we probably need a someone who is steady right now and isnt going to lose the ball with a wayward pass. o

    For @Jourdan
@JuanFloEvraTheCocu'sNesta "I posted a version of this in the match thread but it belongs here I think. I'm Warne out, I have been all season really. Even in our run of form performance levels were frequently poor and we rarely look like a team in control of a football match.
The simple fact is Warne thinks he can approach the Derby job with good vibes and percentage based kick and rush football down the flanks that offers little control. There's not really any nuance to it and any manager with half a brain can figure it out and counter it.
Despite the above, we have brute forced a number of wins by having better players and a bigger budget than the opposition. If we get promoted we won't have better players and a bigger budget than the opposition. What do we do then?
I maintain that a manager with a more advanced approach to football and how to set a team up would extract better performances out of this team, and the deficiencies I see in Warne's approach will only become more of a problem as time goes on."

outcomes from games over the last few months have glossed over the fact that we still never look convincing, or attractive. It's all well and good saying only results matter, but if we went up we wouldn't get away with this in the champ. Its awful to watch. Gutless.

Were you there last night? I was and I can tell you that Reading did not ‘get in our faces’. We had the freedom of the pitch for most of the first half but we played like we were trying to throw the game. Last nights result was nothing to do with how Reading played; they were garbage until they got the goal. At half time my friend and I were laughing about how poor we had been but thought that Warne would see that and change things. Imagine our surprise when he sent the same 11 back out with no change in tactics. The mark of a decent coach is that they can identify the issues and changes things accordingly; that we didn’t speaks volumes about Warne and his abilities.

We will make the play offs but if we don’t hopefully it means Warne will be gone even if we somehow managed to get up I don’t want Warne leading us into a championship campaign
wrong choice of manager and  easier to say when we play badly of course but even some of the victories haven’t been great
This group of players are good enough to control games but we don’t and that’s because of how we try to play that comes from our management team
Lincoln was like a basketball match with no goals was way too open we could easily had won 2-0 and equally had lost 3-0
yes we will win a few but can anyone honestly say the football we are seeing will carry us very far
when we used to lose games under Mac1 we still often looked the better side the play off final being a massive reminder of that ….we go again Saturday  COYR

Perfect is stretching it. I think they just expect us to have 1 shot on target in a league 1 match and not put in such abject performances when the players we have are better than the players most in the division have…

Man- the irony is so thick , what with so many folk saying pretty much our only player of note tonight (and MoTM) was Elder. Oh, how two games changes so much 🤪
But whilst most everyone else was crap i have to say that this game was the straw that broke the camel’s back in terms of my view on Max Bird. I love that he’s come up thru the ranks and is sorta one of our own. I think that's why so many people have given him so much latitude in terms of his performances…
But as of tonight I’ve had enough of his disappearing act in games. Yes, he can be good on his day and in spells, but he is too inconsistent and anonymous in too many games, to the point of effectively being a passenger. I look at the midfielders in some of the other top 6/7 sides and I realize that to move on we need to sell him and reinvest in new midfield blood.
