Deporting immigrants who break the law is a standard approach in many countries.
Angela Merkel recently voted against same-sex marriage in the German Parliament, where the ruling party are her Christian Democrats and therefore religiously influenced conservatives.
In my experience it's standard for anyone on the left to label anyone who disagrees with them "far right". It's the nature of the polarized societies we live in, driven in large part by social media algorithms.
I'll judge him as I find him.

No new leaf from me. I always thought that GSE did a decent job in improving the club, even if progress was slow.
I'm highly skeptical about this boxing champion though. I don't really want the club to be associated with someone who may well have far right views.
People with far right views are usually unintelligent failures or grifters exploiting the problems of others. Neither seems like a good person to be involved with our club.

Which is what we are doing now. But fans will moan about that when they have endure mid table mediocrity (as an aspiration). Remember the Nigel Clough years and protests outside the ground at GSE?! And they ran the club responsibly.
Mel tried to get us out of this league. He’s stood by the club bankrolling it and not walked away until a buyer is in place. He made some big mistakes early on with signings and managerial appointments that has ultimately cost him and us down the line - not helped by ridiculous FFP rules. But he’s done it out of a need of trying to compete with clubs with parachute payments. Right intentions always, yes he’s made some mistakes, yes he’s not immune from criticism but some of the flak he gets is unjustified.

And become a beggar amongst beggars. This is not Mels doing. If you can’t see the warped structure that lead to this over the last 15-20 years then I think you lack insight and logic. Anything Mel has done he has payed for in full. Finger pointing at the man man who’s used his piggy bank ( not very well) to try and realise some ambition is churlish. Ok so it didn’t work and the piggy bank is empty but all you bought is a ticket to a game. Mel has probably spent 20% of his net worth. He’s bailing out, I don’t blame him. He tried manfully

Too many people are making too many assumptions and I will never agree to trial by social media with no right to reply but depressingly that is the fashion for some people.

Quite. When I heard this possible takeover my first thoughts were whether or not the owners could bring investment and success to my club. But some others seem to look at his politics first and trot out the same issues as for the previous would be owner. Some even said that politics are more important than Derby County! Sacrilege!

As I said before with the Sheikh, following a football club is much more than the owner's far right politics.
We'll all be here long after he's pissed off, I can't stop following the club that is a huge enough a part of my life for me to post regularly on here for the past decade even though I can't stand Alonso's politics.
Derby isn't the owner, it's the fans, players, pubs, mascots, ex-players, managers, coaches, academy lads who make one appearance then never play again, blokes pissing in the Derwent on the way to the stadium, old women in the west stand and little kids in the south stand.

Before putting Brian Clough on a Tory vs Labour moral pedestal, his views towards Justin Fashanu sexuality and his flexible socialist  attitude when taking a bung make uncomfortable reading. I haven’t got a problem with Brian Clough whatsoever and still consider him a hero but in today’s cancel culture society it’s remarkable how we find a way to excuse the misdemeanours of those we love and weaponise what we can against those we dislike. Michael Jackson, David Bowie and John Peel seemingly get a free pass when it comes to being cancelled whilst poor old Leon Brittan’s family were utterly hounded with what turned out to be a smear campaign.
What I do think is fair is that these questions are raised with Alonso as it’s not unreasonable for fans to want to know about his views on such things. I can’t say I’m particularly thrilled if he has ‘Far’ right views but I find the views of the ‘Far’ left as equally deplorable and neo liberal cancel everybody and everything bunch the worst of the lot. This probably means the chances of us finding a perfect custodian of the club as I would like it pretty remote.

Frankly as long as he isn’t either a criminal, a complete admitted misogynist / homophobe / anti semite bigot and doesn’t publicly incite violence or repression of dissent then his personal politics don’t interest me. Add in that maybe he is a VOX reformer ? Do we know ? Should we know ? If we know, is it really for us to pass judgment ?
Thing is we don’t all think the same .. and why should we. ? And why if someone has a different view on tackling an issue are they somehow undesirable, unsuitable or not allowed to voice it ? It certainly shouldn’t reflect on his ability to broker a deal or run a football club.

I reckon today’s self appointed moralists are every bit as bad, hypocritical, self congratulatory and judgmental as the dyed in the wool old boys of times past. One “establishment” replaces another in near seamless fashion. It’s part of life.

The position Mel is in (with his documented health issues and the club hemorrhaging money) means that anyone who can show him they have the financial muscle to actually complete the deal is potentially 'the right person'. But we all know he's a long-term fan so I doubt he'd simply offload us to a buch of asset-stripping shysters (even the dodgy Sheikh seemed to have initially have the readiies until one of his group backed out of the deal) - though I wouldn't actually blame Mel for selling to anyone at all if he's made the mistake of reading some of the personal attacks from so-called fans on this forum.....

Mate if that's genuinely how you feel then just walk away....Wailing and teeth gnashing about the new guy's percieved politics (and percieved is all they are at present) won't make any difference if Mel feels he's the right person to sell to - and if Alonso is no more that a front for some other wealthy folk then it'll all be a bit pointless in the long-run....
Having been a supporter back in the day when we were 15 minutes away from going completely out of busness (and being convinced that we are currently in the most dodgy predicament since that time), I'm pretty sure the vast majority of us simply want the club to be taken over by someone with the ambition and the financial clout to keep the club afloat and move us forward - and hopefully that's the case with the new guy (and more importantly the people he's representing if he is fronting a consortium). I have no idea what the politics of most previous owners were and it didn't impact on my support for the club. Consequently I'm not about to change that approach just because it's currently seen as 'the right thing to do' to kick off about every percieved injustice that has ever happened to anyone, anywhere.....

I think you are spot on but only scratch the surface of the long term damage that’s ahead for us and our children as human beings if we don’t put a premium on getting back to normal , most who are happy with the changes now have already built they’re lives and relationships, it’s already a much harder world for youngsters to meet people/ partners and build lives and proper social skills than it was for us , we are quickly moving to a world where we not only have very little contact / interaction with other humans ,we are actually scared of being around others and I think we really don’t realise the long term damage to health and mental health we are heading for
