  1. 2 points dropped this. After a promising first half display, I had hoped for us to build on that in the second half. We flattered to deceive. It all just fizzled out, into a tepid uninspired second half performance. Subs were late and wrong. Failed to change the flow of the game. Really disappointed with that, I enjoyed the first half and thought that more of the same in the second half would have won the game. Can’t fault the players today, management team cost us with poor tactical reactions to how the game was going.

If I've said it once I've said it 1000times. Collins is lucky he somehow scores occasionally because he'd be a league 2 bench warmer at best if it wasn't for that. He's the worst target man/hold up player I've ever seen in a derby shirt for over a decade. Truly awful.

Connor Sammon. I rest my case.

Steele was super negative on Saturday after our win. Most of what he said was nonsense, having watched the game myself he was completely wrong.

It actually comes across like he has an agenda & like he is trying to force an opinion onto fans who cant watch the game & seems to forget fans can also watch away games via Rams TV.

I used to like his summarising but this season he seems way off.

I thought he was spot on and said it how it is. Good defensively, but crap on the ball. You can’t deny that in possession we are awful and the build up play in pretty nonexistent. Fair and true appraisal. How is that negative? All he is doing is saying it how it is, what’s wrong with that? Analysts and commentators should try it more often instead of trying to polish something that can’t be polished.

13 points from 8 games is more than any of our last 3 third division seasons

    2022/23 - 11 points

    1985/86 - 10 points

    1984/85 - 11 points

Just imagine what is possible when we start playing well

The question is not « when » but « if ». Nothing so far makes me certain that we will play any decent stuff. At least with this « philosophy » anyway. Would love it to be true, but just don’t see it happening tbh, not based on what I have seen so far 😟

Rather you stayed off the forum with your ugly views

Yeah pointing out that the football is naff, and the we are going nowhere under Warne counts as an « ugly view »… nice to see that some people have a very low entertainment threshold (you must be a barrel of laughs..). If you can’t take differing opinions, I would advise you to stay of the forum and stick to commenting on the DT…. Or you can try to formulate an answer which may convince me to accept that Warne and his footie are the way forwards, without using the same old excuse that « we are lucky to have a club » and « we have no money ». Good luck with that.

I have no problem playing badly every now and then and winning.

Not all victories under McClaren were swashbuckling. I seem to recall one week where we registered three 1-0 wins in succession over Sheff Wed, Bournemouth and QPR in 2013/14 and none of them were pretty.

But it’s a complete cop out from the manager to say he’d take 20 1-0 wins playing crap, because it justifies playing crap.

Warne is a poor coach. Or his coaches are poor coaches. Playing the way he does requires the least amount of technical coaching.

I just don’t see any long-term benefits playing this way. At some point Warne will have to adapt.

I can be on board if Warne is just a stepping stone to getting out of League One and then we turn to somebody like Mowbray to progress.

But I’ve seen enough of Warne to know we have a poor coach on our hands and no long-term future with him (unless our goal is to remain a lower half Championship struggler).

Very well said, couldn’t have put it better myself. I see NO long term future with Warne at the helm. The only sure thing is the downright abysmal football being churned out week after week, that a coach justifies as « playing at the level we are at ». Piss poor excuse if you ask me. Plenty of teams with far lesser means play better stuff. L1 is no longer the generic everyone plays hoofball, believe it or not, quite a few teams try to play, unless you are Derby under Warne of course.
