It’s not Paul Warne or the club’s job to manage our anxieties. People should be able to look at the information that is out there, listen to interviews like the one from the end of the season and this one today, and apply some common sense to the fact the business and sporting institution that is Derby County needs signings in order to compete this season. Therefore trust the people who own and work within that business will know that too, and will be working on it.
For the millionth time… Just because we haven’t announced a signing yet doesn’t mean we aren’t working on some.I'm afraid you're screaming into the void with some of the buggers on here.

I wonder how bad the offer was to mcgoldrick, from our Club, since he left us.
One year, he wanted two. Simple as that.

we are losing our best players and you wonder why people are pessimistic ? really?
i think people are just ignoring the red flags personally, 35 years old or not he is our best player and has carried us this season. we dont have the budget to replace him
to let him go without a fight is massive mistake in my opinion
Best player, seriously?

With regards McGoldrick, he is someone id like to keep but if he goes I wont be overly concerned. I dont think many fans expected him to score as many as he did last season, so regardless of who we bring in and their previous stats, until they're playing we wont know if they will replace McGoldrick's goals.
He scored plenty & at times was a cheat code but I agreed with Warne when he said something like 60% of the time he is amazing but 40% of the time he ia frustrating. I cant remember the last time I was so frustrated with a player who scored so many goals, he can beat 4 players in 1 go then 2mins later misplace a simple pass which would have put us in a great attacking position.
If he does stay, I dont think he will be a regular starter next season.
Don't forget. 9 goals were scored in 3 games the other 13 league goals came in 36 games.

Derby fans much disliked Francis Lee and Charlie George before they joined us but both turned into an instant and everlasting love affair. 😉
Yes, I remember standing on the Pop side giving both of them dogs abuse then not too long after chanting their names. Funny old game, ain't it.

The main thing that's pissing other supporters off at the moment is that no matter what the EFL/Mel did to us, we still sold 20,000 season tickets, had a bigger average attendance than some Premier teams, most of the Championship and every club in League one and two. They can't understand why we are so well supported and nearly reached the playoffs when we should be struggling near the bottom of the division, and it's doing their little heads in.

John McGovern was great at coming up with the goods when it counted. (25 yarder with a leather ball the weight of a medicine ball, Winner in last game of 71-72 season.) usually but with occasional howlers (back pass vs Arsenal in 2nd FA cup replay)
I too saw John McG.
I've enjoyed Sibley's growing pains into an exciting prospect too!
I have still never forgiven McGovern for that bloody back pass.

Not for me thank you. Let’s all focus on the game we’re watching and restrict score updates to the big screen at half and full time.
We need another screen. I sit underneath the screen and it's a right ballache trying to look up at it.

On the subject of songs, can we not sing "21 points" every five minutes. It's getting extremely tedious and even the Charlton fans were singing "You've only got one song."

The bogs on the Popside in a 38k attendance in the 1960s were the terraces where you stood lol
Come to think about it, if we are talking pre Ley Stand I don't think you'd get £38k in the BBG in those days
I think the previous record in the '50's was just over 39,000

He's very tall. Wikipedia have him as 8"9
I wonder if he's related to the two Springett brothers, both goalkeepers around the 1970's
Ron and Peter, both very good especially Ron.

I'm in Kelso. I have a season ticket but can't get to many games especially with the train drivers striking. My last game was Bristol Rovers.

1968 Derby v Chelsea league cup replay. Went a goal down then scored three in the second half to win. 30 odd thousand in the BBG sounded more like. 90 thousand. Never heard Rams fans louder, before or since. This was the start of the glory years.
