I do hope that the players have been paid and it's not another false dawn. We need some sort of clarity by Thursday at the latest (I didn't want to put 48 hrs!) Please CK let us know soon as I now have started chewing my toenails!!!
If they hadn't been paid we would have heard about it by now from numerous sources.

First get Shinnie, Barkhusein, Collins , Flint and another striker - assuming Malcom goes and Bielik is loaned out .
Hasn't Shinnie signed for Stenhousemuir and gone part-time?

There is no point, I just added it as I thought it might be interesting...obviously passed you by.
So an average wage of £18.37 in 1970 compared to £100 a week in the early 70s is not Well Paid ?♀️
And John O'hare worked at Prestige on nights for 2 days until he found out what hard work was once retired, Maybe all these poor players of the 70s took on too much debt and had to work like us ordinary mortals.
Ok, you're right I'm wrong, f*** it, can't be arsed anymore.

Phil Gee was 15 years after the period I was talking about and Hector was about retired then so I don't see your point. How many players from the early 70's who didn't stay in football managed to retire? David Nish was a milkman FFS. Charlie George takes people on tours at Arsenal.

He had the knife and Steel in Ticknall a good few years back I believe, Altho paid well at the time as a pro footballer, I doubt he'd have millions in his bank account as promoting a fizzy drink shows.
They weren't paid that well. Read an article some time ago stating the players at Derby didn't earn much more than £100 per week in the early 70's.

He is a pensioner, he played in an age where even top footballers didn't earn much so he is probably earning a bit to help get by. He wouldn't have been a postman for years if playing football had left him wealthy. Pisses me off that there are players today making millions who are not fit to clean his boots.

Agreed.
After they knocked us out of the FA Cup in the quarter final replay, way back, with that goal scored straight from a corner, me and my mate went to Villa Park to support them in the semi final.
Wore our Derby shirts and Plymouth hats. Their Green Army were brilliant to us. Even though they lost, it was a brilliant day out.
Shame their ground bears no resemblance to what it was. The first leg of that quarter final was mad. To this day I still can't believe how many Rams fans went all that way. It was crazy!
Yep, duckin' thousands of us, buses, cars, vans. Even saw a large box van with about 30 Rams fans bouncing around in the back.

CK's plane was spotted and Cooke's contacts are in the east. Now, you could fly to Kansas in an easterly direction but it would take a bit longer.
The biggest part of Kansas City is in Missouri.

Im missing something, and I havn't seen another comment on it, what's Mel Morris going to do with the stadium if they can't reach an agreement? knock it down for building land? develop it into?
Council won't let him.

29/08/1959 - 07/05/2022 My first and possibly/probably last games I have seen the Rams play.

Everybody is assuming that these other clubs want us at their stadia. Has anyone asked them?
-
On my way by train to see the Rams, first time this century. Treated myself to first class, £247 but I don't give a duck. Be in Geordie land in 5 minutes.

Do you remember the Liverpool 2-0 game in the early 60's with Bill Curry and Mick Hopkinson scoring from what seemed about 50 yards and Curry's battle with Ron Yeats!. Can still see those goals now, incredible atmosphere at the BBG.
Loved Bill Curry all his shots seemed to be no higher than two inches off the floor, and Mick Hopkinson had really short shorts. Also Reggie Mathews knocking out Alex Dawson against PNE.

Inspiring post, makes a change to hear about the mid eighties period instead of all the Uncle Alberts going on about the early 70’s.
I can go on about the late '50s and'60s of you want ?

I remember the person immediately in front of me having a heated exchange with a (female) official at the security checkpoint at Dublin airport 20 years ago. It was just after 9/11 and security was extremely tight, and people were anxious and agitated, the security staff included. The queue was being held up, but this chap was continuing his objection to I know not what. Shoes protocol, laptop, liquids - haven't a clue, but he ended up shouting and swearing - up until the time when two large security chaps came to escort him away.
When it was my turn to put my stuff through the x-ray machine, I turned to the (female) official who was by now extremely agitated and flustered, and said something along the lines of "Never argue with a security lady who is wearing rubber gloves".
Never been so relieved to see somebody laugh.
Yep, you have to pick your moments. The US customs people have their sense of humour removed at birth ?
