I am bumping this thread for two reasons...

    1/  Because it's my thread.
    2/  Because I can!

    ?

I shall be arriving on my bike, at the racks in front of the club shop, c. 11:30*

There will be 3 very sophisticated black sombreros on the back**... I shall only need one for myself, so I'll be looking to pass two on to passers-by, or leaving them for someone to help themselves, so come and grab one if you so desire.

*I'm used to arriving 10mins to kick off, and taking my seat as the ref blows to start, so arriving so early seems weird, but of course, the occasion and the pre-start appearance of real, true-life living legends dictates an early arrival is the order of the day.

**There are no chin straps, so wearing it on my bike... at the excessive speeds that I travel at (usually about 6mph!  ?) ... would just be silly, dangerous, and quite possibly embarrassing!  ?

Ours are also the black ones with no chin straps. But I have made chin straps using shoe laces ?

So CK can't afford both and MM has to 'give' him the stadium? I can see why things might grind to a halt.

Lol. Just because you have the cash doesn’t necessarily mean you should pay for something up front.

He spoke very well. Considering his age, and by his own admission,  a rather meteoric rise in his bank balance, he seems still very grounded and is buying DCFC for the right reasons. Gets what the club means to its people - I really enjoyed the comparison to a church.

We've had a 'fan' owner. It didn't work. We need someone who gets it, but is emotionally detached, and surrounds themselves with the right people. Sounds like this is what's happening.

I will obviously temper this with, 'talk is cheap'. Ultimately, we won't find out until actions are taken, but for now, I'm reassured.

Totally agree with this. I liked him and he seemed really genuine.
I’ll add that, having heard him speak about the club and the deal now, I don’t think he would have tweeted what he’s tweeted over the last couple of days or would have just done that FB live thing if he didn’t believe/know that the stadium was getting sorted. He totally gets what the club means to people.*

*disclaimer - I totally get that MM could still scupper any deal

How much do we "think" he'll drop the purchase price by and do we think Quantum will "accept?"

This still has a "last minute" MM rescue written all over it.

Lol shouldn’t you be worrying about bottling the play offs? ?

Coming around the corner at The Cockpitt, or whatever that junction is called nowadays, and looking up over the flyover...

Brought a tear to my eye.
No photo will ever give justice to that mental image I have etched on the top shelf of my memory bank.
      ?

Funnily enough, I was near the front and had a tear in my eye when I turned round at the top of the fly over, looked back to the Cockpitt and couldn’t believe how many thousands of people had joined in.

Don’t understand the question. The EFL can’t see into the future. The assessment was made at the time of his taking over and apart from being a self made, local multi millionaire would have included things such as filing for bankruptcy or had been a director of club or clubs which became insolvent, or had influence over or interest in another club etc. none of which would have applied.

In answer to a question from one of our fans though, the EFL admitted he wouldn’t be stopped from owning another club as he’d only had one business (us) go belly up. So, he could, in theory, buy another club if he wanted to.

Is Steve Mcclaren still with the club? Did I miss him leaving at some point??

apparently on his way to old Trafford to join Ten Hags coaching staff

I saw him in the main car park at Pride Park just before the Fulham game, so he was still around a week ago.

All the very best for the coming season and beyond.I hope Rooney sticks by you with a decent owner on board he has a good a chance as anybody to get you back up.Your fans have been superb through this crap period.Things can change very quick in football and sometimes for the better, look at us in the so called best league in the world the Premier league for another season.Although my opinion of  the PL ( I’ve missed 2 games this season )is it’s the fatal attraction of clubs who risk everything to get to the tv cash when for us fans it’s a bland predictable bore fest unless you are a top 4 club the rest just make up the numbers.I won’t shed a tear when we eventually get back to the championship a far better and more competitive league to play in.Hope to be playing you at Pride Park again soon.

Social media is awash with people gloating at the minute. So, thank you for taking the time to come on here and post the above comments. It’s very much appreciated.

Would be interested to know why people think he deserves to be "got rid of".

    P&S
It's still debateable as to whether we implemented a compliant policy or not, despite everything. Pretty much an even split of opinion from all people involved in making the verdicts, almost all of those with an accounting background were in favour of it being compliant after all. Yes, we were set to fail P&S massively regardless of the policy used, but that's much more down to the recruitment failing than the policy itself.

    Administration
Mel and the EFL both played a role in this. Mel for deciding to pull the plug after choosing to spend unsustainable amounts of money. The EFL for going on a 3 year long pursuit against the club for the stadium and amortisation policy which resulted in several failed takeovers which would have kept us out of administration. What was Pearce's role in this?

He was a director wasn’t he? Presumably voted through selling the stadium to Morris. That’s pretty unforgivable, I’m afraid.

Happy to be corrected if I’ve got that wrong.

I still have my doubts about CK, he's too loud for my liking and comes across unprofessional with his comments on social media. It's just not the British way of doing things, you wouldn't see the Queen leaning out of the window at Buck House telling the tourists to keep the noise down would you ?

love him or loath him at least Mel has kept a dignified silence whilst simultaneously running the club to near extinction. Will we survive?. I still don't think we will.

I've no idea if it's related by i had an email from my bank saying they've put in a new verification step for online payments and that if the vendor hadn't yet upgraded then payments might decline. So could be something like that? That was HSBC

Thanks. I bet that’s it. I remember receiving a similar email from First Direct, who are part of HSBC.
