I think you’ll find, for some bizarre reason, removing additional named drivers will often increase the premium. I tried it for my car (removed my wife who also has her own car) and the quote went up. Same for my mother in law. Took her husband off (who now has dementia and therefore can’t drive anyway) and the quote went up.
With regard to renting a car, surely you don’t mean you decline any sort of insurance or are you covered by your normal insurance? Minor scrapes are fine (if that even exists especially when it comes to rental cars) but what if you had a more serious accident? When renting a car abroad it’s also worth taking out excess cover insurance before you go (not with the rental company obviously). It only costs a few pounds but could save you big time. I friend of mine hit the curb quite badly when driving from the airport to the Villa they were staying at (probably because of driving on the “wrong” side of the road). The excess was a lot (as I think it often is with holiday rentals) but, fortunately for them they had excess cover.

If you're not buying property and just passed go, you are paying 100% income tax. My Dad got furious and moved to the Cayman Islands immediately

I really wanted it to work out with Cocu. Obviously, I want it to work out with every Derby manager but I really thought we were onto something with Cocu, it just felt like we had got ourselves someone a bit special. So sad when that didn't happen, and equally sad to see that Vitesse, who he is now managing, have only achieved the 30% win rate that he got at Derby.
If ifs and buts were apples and nuts eh!

    My favourite things about Monopoly
If no one ever buys a property, everyone gets richer and no one loses.
but even better than that -  if you do buy property but share each colour equally among the players so that nobody has an actual monopoly, everyone just travels around paying each other less than what they earn from passing go, and the bank eventually runs out of money.
    Makes you think eh?

And the one in Bristol, and the promised Metrolink to Manchester Airport has infact been running since 2014. Oh, and Sunak told Susannah Reid on Tuesday that he hadn't made a decision, even though he had already filmed the announcement video.
There has to be a way to stop this - it's just shambolic and, as a result, only 37.1% turnout for the bi-election yesterday. British people seem totally disillusioned. My suggestion would be that parties - government and credible opposition - cannot propose spending and commitment of funds without their being a third party, totally independent, review body considering them. In theory this should be the House Of Lords but that is now full of nominations from either party. But nobody should be able to unilaterally cancel a major element of a £100bn investment and then start sloshing it around like confetti with not even the most basic understanding of how it would be spent.
This should be bigger than government, opposition and politics. Shame on us that we've let it become just that.

My uncle was quite high up in the SNCF, the French state railways. Every time there were budget reviews and cuts were discussed or a sniff of privatisation, his stock answer was always if you want to make it more expensive and not working,  look at how it's done in England.

Sadly, current research suggests this is not the case and that the universe is constantly expanding and will continue to do so. It's beyond our mortal comprehension to understand but the recognised future for our universe is an immense ball of more or less nothing.
But the rest of the theory is spot on, Nobel Prize winning stuff

Point one would be who are we to say it is detailed and vast? We are only living in the universe we know, if a Space Invader was transported to Call Of Duty they would think the new universe is both immensely vast and detailed.
Point two, I don't believe any simulation as such would be built for us to played like characters in SiMS. More that they would be interested in macro analysis, possibly to try and evaluate what events in their own evolution had led them to where they are (for example, if they had not discovered the wheel at the time they did etc).
Elon Musk is completely convinced his wife Grimes is a computer simulation created for him and she apparently agrees. Make of that what you will.
As for whether or not we live in a simulation, it is has long been suggested (see above) that if we can move from Space Invaders to 3D virtual reality in 50 years imagine what gaming / virtual reality will look like in 500 years. But that still doesn't mean there is ability or even willing to create and manage some sort of simulated universe. Not sure there's much point. It feels a bit like religion, the thing some put in place to justify the utter and complete randomness (and inability for the human brain to comprehend) the utter vastness and meaningness of it all.
But all I know is that if we are in a virtual reality I hope I am not the twonk who can't make it past the Despair Squid. Dwayne Dibley? Please no!

Just a thought, but I wouldn't put anyone off checking out the ladies equivalent, the Solheim Cup highlights. No spoilers but this year was a belting match up as well as a pretty dramatic one. Same format as the chaps and some wonderful players on show.
