The White Horse? Now that's not exactly a fitting venue, is it? We need to find somewhere more upmarket. I reckon the Joiners Arms would be far better.

The team spirit and togetherness of a promoted side is often a great springboard for the next league. At present, I reckon we're a bit low on quality to really be competitive. If we can sign 6 or so top quality Championship players, we'll be in with a shout of the play-offs.
I suspect that we just don't have the resources for that, so it'll be Adams plus a few journeymen. 10th to 14th...although that would be sensible and a bit boring, which isn't Derby County. 1st or 24th it is then 🙂

Hard to argue that Warne isn't the best manager for League 1. 5 seasons, 4 promotions and a 7th place. As a record it is stunning. He also did it with an underfunded Rotherham team and Derby side severely restricted by post administration sanctions.
We've also not looked particularly good all season. We've not dominated, but have generally been just good enough. Stratospheric improvements in set pieces, fitness and desire and flexible organisation have been what Warne has bought to the club. We've been very hard to beat often ground out results.
Warne has absolutely earned the right to lead us into the Championship. Will his strengths work for us in the Championship? No idea, but looking forward to finding out. COYR

7th manager in 140 years to get us a promotion? Record points haul? Most away wins? Managed to get through the interviews without saying he wished it was his previous club?

Good luck for this afternoon, I hope you get it over the line for a number of reasons, and the odds are in your favour.
I hope you don't mind an outsider saying this, and I'm sure you all know this, but regardless of any euphoria or disappointment tomorrow, you'll all still be proud supporters - as b4 was, and is. As someone who read on here for a while before I registered/posted and saw lots of his comments when you were in a bad place;  I stand by the fact that whoever we support, we could all do well by being a bit more like him, when it comes to our clubs.

I was at Belper Cinema tonight and the lady working there mentioned she used to work at Derbion Cinema.
I said you must know Daniel then. She smiled for half a second, remembered he had passed, then shed a tear. Within seconds she was smiling again but still with moist eyes.
She told us how positive, optimistic and lovely he was and how great he was at his job. He was her favourite workmate.
At this point I may have had some grit in my eye.
I think Daniel has made us all tearful as we smile at his memory and I dare say many of us will look to the sky at 2.30 tomorrow, with that same bit of grit in our eye.
I've never been so confident before a match in my life, as the very briefest thought of us not doing this for B4, hasn't once crossed my mind.

I've been reading that the EFL might dock us points if there is a pitch invasion after the game on Saturday. I find that pretty hard to believe. Pompey fans would be on the pitch if they were at home - they already did it last week. Several teams who avoid relegation will be on their pitches. Same in the other divisions. Are all of them going to get points deductions? I think not.
The reality is that, IF we are promoted on Saturday, there will be a pitch invasion. 1,000 people will do it anyway. As soon as they are on the pitch, everyone else will follow. It's football and events like this are what keeps you going through losing to Southend in freezing conditions in February.
The downside is that some people aren't able to get onto the pitch. IMO, the club should embrace it and make provision for helping the less able bodied to participate in the best party of the year.

I am shocked that that compilation doesn't include Ed Dawes' very emotional speech from when we were saved - voice cracking and everything.
For some reason, that's the bit I remember most.

He stayed so long last night, that he ended up drawing the raffle! Got a resounding chorus of "Sign him up, sign him up" when he finally left.
He was so positive about being at Derby, but we know it's not as simple as that. Cardiff will have the say because I don't think we'll pay silly money for him.
But if he's got two offers on the table from championship clubs, I think he'd choose us unless it's one of the parachute clubs and the money is too good to turn down.

The thing that Warne has really achieved is a colossal improvement in both our attacking and defending set pieces.
Obviously the stats show the effectiveness off the attacking corners and free kicks - I believe we've scored more than any other of the 92 clubs.
However, I reckon the improvement in the defending from corners has been even better. For so many years, I've sat in the West Stand watching us defend set pieces with my hands over my eyes in terror. They had the same effect as Doctor Who had on six year old me. Now I'm relaxed enough to carry on a conversation. I expect us not to concede.
I actually think that improvement is a significant reason why automatic promotion is in our hands with two games to go.
