Our generally gloomy city streets were buzzing with activity, boozers packed, tills were ringing, and the mood was joyous. (players can't have booked holidays as the play-offs were still a vague possibility so should still be around) 1) Allow the fans to show their appreciation one more time 2) Allow the players and staff another chance to soak in their achievement and feel the love 3) boost the hospitality takings in town What's not to like? And yet over an Facebook you see people saying that an open-top bus celebration would be "an embarassment" because we "only came second".
