Remember Forest blowing a 3 point lead and a 7 goal swing when they played like a pub team against Stoke and Swansea turned into 1970 Brazil for the evening.  4 goals is nowt.  Peterborough have a  9 goal swing to make up.  That seems too much but they have a lose 5 nil, win 4 nil habit.  All a bit stressful.  2-0 at halftime please to make me feel better Derby.

Carlisle's results against the better sides are far better than those nearer the arse end where they've been bobbins. Won at Bolton, drew twice with Stevenage, win and draw against Peterborough, only lost by one at Portsmouth home and away.  Need to play better than we did second half as they'll be loving a trip to Pride Park before they head to Hades in August.  I feel we really need to push for a win.  Only the best sides can want a draw and play for it.  It takes a level of calculated ball retention we do not have.

I still have a recording of the Derby-Palace promotion match where Ray Wilkins proclaims it disgusting that Derby fans had come on the pitch at the final whistle and they should look at replaying the game or punishing the club.  Jimmy Greaves then tells him to stop being a miserable barsteward in so many words.

It's been further devalued by VAR at some games and not at others.  

In the meantime, clubs in League 1 and 2 are forced to play their U23's adding to their own fixture congestion and injury list in a competition worth about as much as a happy meal.  Here's a plan, use some them U23's in a replay against Stockport.  Much the same fecking thing. 

Seems ok. You can get a trip to Wembley and a trophy for finishing 18 points behind second in sixth place.

I get the fixture congestion line that's always trotted out with this kind of thing, but there are far better solutions than this. Why not increase the Premier League squad lists from 25 to say, 30, and make them actually play some of the vast amounts of talent that the Premier League clubs hoover up from the lower leagues?
As a point of reference, re fixtures - Man City played 61 games in total last year. Winning the treble. In 71-72 we won the league, and neither the FA Cup, or League Cup, and had no European impediments, and we played 60 games.

I don`t think I`d mind any team going up, by beating us, if it didn`t affect our own league ambitions.

Except Leeds, of course. I`ll forever enjoy seeing them fail.

Remember cup vouchers in your season ticket.  They were fun and ensured plenty in for an early doors cup match.

But we have too deal with the massive fixture backlog for all those teams in Europe playing home and away against some team who won the Cypriot cup, or 20 games to win the Champions league they qualified for by finishing 4th.  Don't forget the 4 preseason games going to Saudi to play against Al Hilal and some other randoms as well.  Rochdale can feck right off with their 200k extra gate money.
