I'm pretty sure they scored a goal at Sheff Utd at the end of their first season that kept them up, that with goal line technology would have relegated them as it didn't go in.  Get the luck sometimes as well. 

Should have kept Knight and not sold him.  The fee was paltry and he would have stayed on promotion or we'd have got more in compo at the end of the season.  Miles better player than Bird.
 

There seems to be a lot of emphasis, on a teenager who's got 1 in 2 at League 5 level against any number of blokes who still work part time, to score goals against defences that have cost millions of pounds and are full internationals. I think we may need quite a bit more than that as striking options. 

Forsyth should have been moved on in after Wembley when he was hugely culpable with that half arse tackle that pulled Buxton out of position. He was the weakest player we had that season.  He was also absolutely drek against Sheff Wednesday when we had to win in 20/21 and his arse was saved by Pack and Waghorn.  He's proved a steady player at League 1 and needs to enjoy a two year retirement contract by the sea somewhere.  if he gets another contract here we are heading very much in the wrong direction.

Mel would still be here as it would the chance for the narcissistic nature to come to fruition.   Villa are a bigger club than Derby with more financial clout and had 100 million from one player to reinvest, so I doubt we'd be in their position without a lot more investment.  I imagine they're quite surprised.

He scored and had one cleared off the line in his 25-30 minutes on the pitch. Prior to that Mings was stood on the halfway line taking a s*** whilst reading the paper.  Villa were good on the day, but there job was made a lot easier with erratic defensive work caused by nothing up front and the ball constantly being recycled

Agree with this bit.
He has England caps at 4 age groups and has two promotions from this league as a regular starter, he was also part of a Derby defence that didn't concede in 8 straight games so too say he can't play at this level I wouldn't agree with.  He was another that lost his way under Franks tutelage for a couple of years as he preferred motor mouth Malone and his 40 year old mate

Saw a story on telly once about a bloke on holiday in Greece who woke up with a tattoo saying Tim's a t*** on his wrist.  Had no idea who Tim was and apparently removal would be tricky due to placement.  Few years later he had an interview for a job he wanted and was panicking on the handshake as the bloke introduced himself as Tim.  Turns out, according to his mates who left him in the dark for about 5 years, he'd met some girl in a bar who'd broke up with her boyfriend and was on holiday on the hunt but he had to prove his worth by getting a tattoo about her ex boyfriend Tim being a t***.   He remembered none of it and passed out before getting his prize.  His mates were loving his mystery for years.

Surely the big fight here is someone getting in the ring with a near 60 yr old bloke, who lost to a bloke I'd have gone 10 rounds in his last jaunt about 20 years by refusing to get off his stole. 
I think the winner of Fury/Usyk should fight Jake Paul and render him comatose in 30 seconds.  Then we stop being bothered by his shitshow.

He's no spring chicken but we were asking him to play in a position that he's never played.  Chasing back and tackling players who were 10 years younger, two stone heavier and 5 inches bigger than him.  Has bits of Knight about it who apparently didn't create enough or score enough despite spending half his life here out wide, at full back or chasing wide players back under the wing back system last season, despite being in midfield.  He's seen very much as an attacking midfielder at Bristol as he was in his first season here.  He won't play every week but if he is here, play him 20 yards from the opponents goal and he might just get or create 10 very important goals.  Teams won't  be sitting in against us like in League 1.  There'll be less chasing back and more space.  We'll be doing much more countering, rather than pressing, unless big dollars are spent on midfield and attack.
 

I think we should have signed him last season at the 250k Bristol Rovers had accepted.  His hold up play at that level is very good and with a run he'd have got goals we were scratching around strikers for.  I also suggested after that, his job would be done and we might even get a fair profit from a relegated side needing goals..  He got 9 in a full season at this level at prime age, he won't be more proficient 3 years later.
